Dani laced her fingers with Stiles and looked at him, smiling softly “It will be fine.” She breathed, leaning in to lightly kiss his cheek “I promise.” She whispered.

She grabbed the door handle, taking a breath as she did. She too was a little nervous about seeing Scott, after he found out that She and Stiles had actually been dating a while. “Doesn’t look like he’s here yet.” She said to Stiles, looking back at him as they entered the diner.

The brunette led him to a booth near the back, where it would at least be fairly quiet. She slipped into the booth and then rest her head against his shoulder, fingers still laced under the table.

Dani sat in the car, trying to look out the window. She hadn’t been in Beacons Hill too long, but she had planned to go out bowling with Scott, but currently she was sitting in her car, near the woods, in the dark, waiting for him to come back. 

He had told her to stay put before jumping out the car, clearly interested in something, but that had been a little while now. 

She turned the key, pulling it from the ignition and stepped out. “Scott? You still here?” She called, getting worried now.

“Scott?”

Dani sat on the benches next to her Aunt, cheering on her Cousin. She wasn’t even sure if Scott knew she had arrived in town yet, seeing as she arrived only a few hours before. But when Melissa told her that there was a Lacrosse game on, she knew she wanted to see this, especially as this was going to be her school soon, she wanted to get to know what their Lacrosse team was like.

It had been hard transferring in on her last year, but it was better than having to move over seas. It was hard that her dad was moved around so much, she barely ever finished a whole year in one school. It didn’t seem to affect her education, as she always seemed to take the time to study at home. But this year, being her final year, it would be nice to be in just the one place for once. 

She noticed a tall male standing to one side and Melissa lift her hand and beckoned him over.

“Derek, you might as well get to know my Niece Dani.” 

Dani smiled and held out her hand. “Hi. You a friend of Aunt Melissa’s?” She asked.

It wasn’t right. She knew that. It really wasn’t right. Yet she still couldn’t take her eyes off of her cousins best friend, or stop thinking about him. What would Scott say if he knew about her little crush on his best friend? Would be laugh? Would he try and help set her up? No, he would probably lock her in her room, and only make contact with her when he passed food through a hatch. He was surprisingly protective of her, considering they were only cousins. 

Yet here she was, sitting on the seat and watching Stiles as he spoke passionately to Scott about the movie they were currently watching. 

“Do you always do so much research on a movie?” Dani asked Stiles, smiling at him as she curled her legs up beside her on the seat.

Dani took a sip of her coffee as she waited at the small table in the corner of the coffee shop. She was nervous, and because of that, she had been chewing the corner of her bottom lip. 

Her friend has told her about this guy, and sure, the two had spoken back and forth on the phone, and in text, but this would be the first time they were actually meeting, which is why they had decided on a relaxed, casual place.

Her eyes looked at her phone, almost nervous that he would text to cancel, but she hoped he would show.
