There is no one to pretend to: They simply enjoy observing you, how you interact with all their creations. Everything that brings you joy, every laugh, every moment of awe- It was, once, all shaped by them. They are responsible for all of it, in the end, and the day you will return to them yourself is inevitable. Everything does. They have waited eternities, and will wait longer yet.
