Oh yeah, he's great at reading faces, and knows that resets are a thing. I get fanon and canon mixed sometimes. I sometimes wonder, when you tell Asgore you've killed him before, does he believe you because he knows about resets, or is he just mixing children up because he's just that messed up in the head? "Yes, I killed you six times before. And yet here you are again".

i always wondered about that too! i like to think that, either because he was the one who ordered the experiments on the human souls, or he had so much more contact with humans than most monsters (having lived through the war), he has more of an idea about the nature of their resilience than most of the underground does.

I think the Frisk prompt was how Papyrus would react to Frisk, after everything that happened. Could be worth exploring further. I believe he knocked her out, and called Undyne.

In the fanart where Sans says "They're just a kid", I kind of picture Papyrus thinking he meant they're a baby goat. "Sans, it doesn't look anything like a goat".

I'm guessing she can remember because of determination, except that doesn't really line up with the game. She still only remembers subconsciously, like everyone else who isn't Sans and Flowey. Not that I mind all that much. You do what you want in your comic.

actually, sans doesn’t remember in the game either! it’s a popular fanon but not a canon fact - he’s just REALLY good at guessing. in the game, the only people who consciously remember are frisk, flowey, and chara.

I'm not real versed in the Underfell AU, but what's the reason why Flowey is a genuinely nice guy here? Other than "Everyone's alignment is reversed".

Well the original concept of Underfell was basically that all the monsters are trying to kill Frisk except Flowey who is the only nice one. But most comics/stories try and explain why that is.

In the case of Soulfell it’s because Flowey didn’t end up going through the same things he did in canon.

The reason Flowey was the way he was in Undertale is that after all the resets after being himself, trying to feel something for Asgore and then Toriel, trying to be nice, and be everyone’s friend, he got bored and started trying other things just to break the monotony, and eventually he became pretty malicious because he found that was the best way to get things to change and also because it didn’t really matter to him. It was just a game to him because he could save and reload and reset.

In Soulfell, Flowey didn’t have the opportunity to get bored like that. For one thing, the nature of this kill or be killed world is way too unpredictable, but for another, Flowey’s resets in this story centered around a specific event he was trying to change. It wasn’t because he kept getting killed or bored or frustrated, he was actively trying to change an event that occurred. So he still retained a lot more of his nature as Asriel.

It does say something that he's one of the toughest bosses in the game, when he obviously doesn't want to kill you. Can you imagine how hardcore he'd be if he gave everything he had? He didn't survive that war for nothing.

Right???? Like Asgore was definitely giving Frisk a chance. He wasn’t like dodging or anything. I read a meta once about how Undyne mentioned that she could never hit Asgore except like that one time–so like he’d probably be completely capable of dodging. It’s obviously not against the rules of a Fight since Sans can do it and technically you do it too as Frisk. So yeah. Asgore is a badass you don’t wanna mess with. He’s a literal boss monster.
