it used to be SUCH A FLEX but now it’s just sadness ;;;;; i’m just a lump of ‘what does this all mean?????’ at this point 

i got in early bc of this special pathway we have in aus which basically means you don’t have to do the undergrad/pre-med course you just go straight to med 

and if anyone would like to know why i don’t have an active social life yes this is why

Hello! thank you so muuuuch 💕 

I start with smart sharpen 

-> basic; default settings; amount 500%; radius 0,4 (sometimes 0,3 if it’s too much); remove gaussian blur; more accurate.

Then I duplicate the sharpened layer, add a gaussian blur filter set to 0,3% radius, and finally I set the duplicated layer's opacity to 80-100% dependig on how crisp I want it to look. When I save the gif I choose adaptable and diffusion.

your gifs are insanely pretty i’m so jealous!! do you have any tips for how to keep them not grainy? i’m downloading super high red videos, making sure there aren’t too many frames and really holding back from the adjustments but mine still end up looking grainy :’( i’ll be grateful to any help thank you !

ahh thank you, you’re too kind! you probably saw a nice set, as i find mine too grainy most of the time myself!

you’re already there with not too many adjustment layers, so maybe check your ps save settings, are you set on pattern as below? 

also something to try is higher contrast - add a contrast layer as i find that deeper blacks help with any graininess! your gifs are nice soft colours, but i think it might work as you want.

Oh thank you!! Honestly i’m still learning how to gif things and not make the coloring too hideous. Exporting a gif without it looking bad still escapes me  ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The biggest game changer for me was white and black dropper in curves:

Use the white one on the lightest pixel and the black one on the darkest. You can then play with the curves of course but it just helps a ton to color a scene.

Topaz clean/deNoise is a great tool I highly recommend but make sure not to overdo it or people will end up looking plastic or like from a cartoon.

And that’s honestly all the advice i can give lmao, except for stuff like use 0.04s or 0.05s to make the gif move smoothly, I’m learning with every gifset i make. There’s some advanced stuff like vapoursynth/avisynth and i’m planning on learning it someday but today is not the day lmao, i’m way too lazy. But if you have motivation to learn, you can try that! Gif makers who use it always have stunning gifs.
