"Well you did kinda leave me alone with your mother for awhile."

"But seriously? Everyone around here has been givin' me weird looks."

"Ah, you noticed that, huh? Guess it'd be hard not to…"

"What? Are strangers just not welcome or something?"

"No, not at all! It's just…"

"They… probably think you're a spirit."

"Oh."

"So are they scared of me?"

"I don't think that's it. I think… they're more worried about you."

"The spirits that have been brought to our village in the past have all been found on the mountainside, and, well…"

"It can be hard to help them."

"So, is it gonna make your family look bad if I keep staying with you guys?"

"Well, she says her name is 'Dolli,' and that she was the one who saved Garrett three summers past. She seems to travel a great deal, but…"

"Is that so? Huh, she don't sound much like a spirit then."

"No she doesn't, and I thought it would be rude to ask her if she was…"
