PATCH!
loud & deafening silence // accepting.
her breath is labored as she maintains firm pressure against her abdomen , far more annoyed by her miscalculation than the injury itself. she can barely feel it , adrenaline numbing her to any pain. this isn’t her first rodeo and it certainly wouldn’t be the last. ❝ don’t fuss over me, take care of your own. ❞ still hands , dexterous as any accustomed to such a task would be , are persistent in their attempt to assist her. ❝ stop. i’m fine, ❞ ‘ it’ll heal on its own, don’t waste your supplies.’ she wants to say but the words linger in her mouth. tasting of the blood, not entirely her own, staining her face and clothing. not everyone was as accepting of the unexplainable, would be a shame to have to cut this partnership short.
❝ for someone so small, you have a lot of fight in you. ❞ it was a compliment as much as it was an accusation , yet she finds herself giving in to her request all the same. surrendering control to a small degree , if only for the time being. she isn’t accustomed to being looked after, nor relying on anyone other than herself, even less to genuine kindness. it makes her feel out of place, vulnerable , though she doesn’t allow it to show. @chambrs
