But what did you think of Gap? I find it cringe at time so be as honest as you can.
I have a lot of thoughts about Gap. lol.
I really liked it. I admit I went in with the feeling that I was going to hate it, but I ended up loving it.
Yes, there are a lot of cringe worthy moments in it. Oh man, so many tbh. Like the first scene where Sam goes on her knees and we meet ChamCham, lol. I have a lot of thoughts on this. hold on.
I get why it's so cringy for some people, I actually have a friend who told me that she stopped watching after that one scene. I found it to be extremely adorable though, lol. For me it isn't about the 'kink' itself, as it seems to be for a lot of people, it's the vulnerability behind it. Sam goes on her knees, and yes she's a dick before this, but she goes on her knees and asks for forgiveness the only way she can think of doing it.
After watching and reading Blank, I've come to understand the Sippakorn sisters a bit better, and dear lord are they repressed!
Neither one of them, Sam or Nueng, know how to deal with feelings. Both have a very disturbed concept of what love even means, they can't accept love, they're terrified of it and they're terrified of being hurt, most of all.
Most important of all though it's they way they were raised above everyone else, they're superior and no one seems to be worthy of them. That grandma sure messed them up real good.
Anyhow, when Sam went on her knees it caught me really off guard because I'm pretty sure that she'd have never done that for anyone else, nor will she ever again. Mon understands that and that's why it's 'easy' to give in. Not that girly ever had the willpower to say no to Sam.
Aside from being a bit cringy though, it's also very toxic. Mon suffers way too much, again, because Sam can't express how she feels, and then she forgives and forgives and forgives again. The way she's dumped not once but twice, it's so fucking infuriating and wrong, just wrong.
The way Mon's ghosted and then has to say goobye to the love of her life while she's in a wedding dress? GTFO. And that last ChamCham??? Girl that broke me! I was a crying mess over the ChamCham thing, lol.
All in all though, I really liked the core of the story and I'd definetely watch again. Cringe or no cringe.
