RCB signs Hasaranga, Chameera, Tim David for second leg of IPL 2021

Prior to the UAE leg of the IPL 2021, Royal Challengers Bangalore has recruited Sri Lankan all-rounder Wanindu Hasaranga, fast bowler Dushmantha Chameera, and Singapore’s Tim David. Following the selection of Finn Allen and Scott Kuggeleijn for New Zealand’s national squad for the series against Bangladesh, Adam Zampa, Daniel Sams, and Kane Richardson declared themselves unavailable for the tournament’s second leg.

Hasaranga was named Player of the Series in the just concluded Sri Lanka vs India T20I series, taking seven wickets at an economy rate of 5.58 in three matches. Dushmantha Chameera, a teammate, was also praised for his controlled bowling. The red brigade’s bowling team has been strengthened even more with the addition of these two guys.

Meanwhile, David, a Singaporean, made waves during his brief PSL tenure with the Lahore Qalandars. He previously played in the Big Bash League for the Hobart Hurricanes, where he scored 279 runs at a strike rate of 153.29. He’s had a good run for Surrey since then, scoring two hundreds and a fifty in his previous four List A games. Domestic players and support staff who are not already on assignment have gathered in Bengaluru, where they will undergo a seven-day quarantine and three COVID-19 tests before going to the UAE on a chartered flight on August 29.
