First pic of the new growth; crazy that we’re only ~3.5 months away from harvest 2018. #champanel #❤️🐢🍷 (at Slow Turtle, Austin, Texas)

The hydro press in action. Love how gentle this press is with the grapes, pretty much sweet talks the juice out of their skins 😘 #harvest2017🍇 #champanel #❤️🐢🍷 (at Slow Turtle, Austin, Texas)
We started out with little feet and ended with big ones! Good foot hygiene was practiced along the way (for those of you wondering 😋). #harvest2017🍇 #champanel #❤️🐢🍷 (at Slow Turtle, Austin, Texas)

Harvest 2017 provided the highest yield of Champanel to date! Special thanks to all the volunteers that made it out to Slow Turtle to lend a helping hand. #harvest2017🍇 #champanel #❤️🐢🍷 (at Slow Turtle, Austin, Texas)
Last drip line watering of the season for our Champanel vineyard. These grapes are going to have to buckle up and deal with 100F weather for the next couple of weeks. Looking to harvest first week of Aug based on today's numbers. #concentrated grapes #champanel #❤️🐢🍷 (at Slow Turtle, Austin, Texas)
Grapes are now going through veraison (i.e. changing from green to dark purple in color). The birds got a few, but we were able to get the netting up before things got out of control. #birdnetting #veraison #champanel #❤️🐢🍷 (at Slow Turtle, Austin, Texas)
Vigorous Champanel vines getting an early summer pruning. Pulling leaves in the fruiting zone enables the Austin sun to shine though and increase the sugar level (Brix) in the grapes. Today is national rosé day, perfect time to announce that for this year's vintage I'm going to dedicate the entire yield to making two stylistically different rosé wines #rosé #roséallday #❤️🐢🍷 #champanel (at Slow Turtle, Austin, Texas)
