Arcane Unicornos arrived and I am OBSESSED.
RATING MY VIKTORS
Since I've now gotten every Arcane Herald Viktor official figurine, I'm going to rate them from worst to best
3rd Place: Funko Pop Champion Viktor (Right)
I honestly think this one is hideous but I saw it at the store and I was willing to buy it so long as I didn't have to put any effort into the process. The super wide Funko style face and big circular pupils honestly look horrible. (Though I suppose they are the buggiest of the three, which is amusing.) I don't like Funko pop design sensibilities at all so I mostly just obtained this for completionism's sake and so I could stare at it in contempt.
2nd Place: Youtooz Champion Viktor (Left)
Generally, I was happy with this one... which is good because I had to preorder it. The face is more show accurate despite it being made in chibi proportions, and I like that they didn't do the stupid Yootooz stylized eyes. In general, it's just a better miniature. I like that they made him float without needing a stand by have his cape be extra big and swoopy. I don't like that they designed it so that the hexclaw and his staff are on the same side, because it creates an awkward silhouette and you cannot really see them both at the same time. They put his staff on the wrong side anyway, so I'm not quite sure why they chose to do this.
1st Place: Pop Up Parade Champion Viktor (Middle)
This is more or less just a somewhat simplified version of the actual show model, so design wise it's spot on. It's quite light and delicate, and so its very simplistic stand is enough to keep it upright. The paint job (though minimalistic, only the gold bits are painted on) looks good from standing distance and only a little bit off close up, mostly on the staff. If one were good at painting miniatures you could really easy add shading to this thing, which I think could look really nice. No complaints for its price at all. One of the hexclaw's fingers was bent in transit but I am nursing it back to health.
My quality ranking also happens to be ordered from least expensive to most expensive, so that is perhaps not surprising.
I don’t go for Pops that often, but he was just too cute to resist with his wittle HexClaw 🥰
