       David hadn’t intended to kiss Fallon. Sure, it had happened plenty of times in the past, but they had been different people back then. They both changed their lives rather drastically, and now it was a blooming friendship he didn’t want to miss – simply because she understood things others didn’t. Because she had been through the same, and could relate to some of his less favorable memories. They’d met in the park, and when he leaned down to hug her and kiss her cheek as a greeting, she seemingly wanted to do the same – except they were both aiming for different directions, and ended up kissing each other’s lips. For some reason, he couldn’t help but laugh, taking a step back and shaking his head. “Sorry,” he managed to get out, though he wasn’t about to make this more awkward than it had to be. “I promise I’m not trying to steal you from your daughter.”

       David wiped his hands on a kitchen towel before leaving the kitchen to check on his sister in the living room. It was their weekly routine of having dinner together at least once, but tonight they both seemed to be elsewhere with their heads. She was sat on the couch and he moved up from behind, arms wrapping loosely around her shoulders. He leaned down to press a kiss against the crown of her head, a smile on his lips as he rested his chin against her head. “Everything okay here?”, he asked quietly, the smell of food slowly starting to fill the air as it wavered through the apartment from his kitchen. “Do you need some alcohol? Dinner will be ready in ten.” He didn’t wait for her answer, simply pressed another kiss to her head before he reached out for her empty glass to get her something stronger from the kitchen.

🍎 a time my muse felt safe with yours.

           Never in a million years did David think he could feel safe again with someone from his past life. Someone who had seen him at his worst, and even shared that chapter of his life. Fallon and him had gotten lost in the whirlwind of parties during their modeling careers, and he couldn’t even remember half the times they’d ended up in bed together. David wasn’t proud of his past. He wasn’t proud of the man he had been back when he first met Fallon. Running into her again in Seattle made him cautious, but once he realized that her life had changed just as, if not even more, drastically than his, he started to relax. They had both turned their lives upside down, turning their backs to what almost destroyed them back in the day. Sitting with her in the corner of a restaurant to shield himself from most of the curious views, he took a bite of his food, looking over at her with a small smile on his lips. He was grateful that they found together again, grateful that they managed to be friendly despite what happened. In a way, he even felt safe sitting there with her, which meant a lot, as he never felt completely safe and comfortable out in public. Shaking his head a little, he still smiled as he looked down at his plate. “And? How’s your food?” ( @fallonxbates )

☀️ a time my muse let yours take care of them.  

          “Ouch, ouch, ouch.” Emily knew she must sound whiny, tears swimming in her eyes as the doctor carefully moved her arm to assess the damage. But she had a very low pain tolerance – things that other people didn’t even bat an eye for felt like a broken bone to her. She’d always hurt herself easily, and couldn’t handle physical pain very well. Emily could count on one hand the times she’d broken a bone, but she was quite sure that now she had managed to break her arm. It had been stupid, she was trying to put some books into one of the top shelves at the bookstore, and lost her footing. She fell down, and even if it wasn’t a high fall, she managed to land on her arm rather unluckily. There had been a gut-wrenching sound as her arm gave in underneath her, and now here she was at the hospital, her arm hurting like mad. “Is it broken?”, she asked, her voice trembling with tears that threatened to spill. Looking up at the trauma doctor, she pressed her lips together to keep herself from hissing in pain. “It’s broken, isn’t it?” ( @chanadexter )
