Okay, okay, okay. I've done Some Thinking about who else I want to ramble about and we're gonna start with Cord.
Could I have chosen a gif where they look less like an asshole? Yes. Would I have? No. Why? Because Cord is an asshole. They're an asshole in that grouchy uncle sort of way that sneaks you the good stuff and tells you not to tell your fuckin' mom. Or, I guess that cool dad that does the same.
Sarcastic, drinks whiskey like it's water, and always ready to start or join a fight, Cord's also deeply loyal and will do anything for those they care about. They're not always the best with expressing emotions outside of anger, but they rarely lash out at their kids or grandkids.
Will call you a dumbass, hug you, and make you your favorite comfort food.
Honestly, Cord's the muse I've had the longest. 4 days ago marked 11 years of this dumbass and I would not have the friends on here that I have today if it hadn't been for this idiot.
Okay. Second muse is gonna beeeeeee... Well, uh, Chance?
I know, I know, but stay with me here. Yes, Chance is Problematic TM, we are all very much aware of this. I mean, for crying out loud, I just tag things as tw: chance because it's like a general rule of this blog that if it involves Chance, it's going to be triggery.
Chance also has one of the singular best character arcs I've ever written? Like, the difference between him raising Manson or Jack compared to how he is with Tyler especially is startling. And it's such a gradual shift. He wasn't A Great Dad to Teddy, he was better with Dahmer and Gacy, but Tyler? He's damn near a good dad to Tyler.
His dynamic with Sera over the years has been interesting to watch unfold. Don't get me wrong, YIKES on a lot of it, but Sera has, against all odds, made him a better person.
I don't write Chance much. I don't see that ever changing because of how intense of a character he is. But his character growth is one of my favorites.
