Chance and Millie |
Millie tugged at the skirt of her simple blue dress. Her mother disliked her wearing such simple clothing, but preferred it for when the brunette was out in the forest.
She'd become bored with her lessons, and had snuck out. It wouldn't be long until her governess would notice, and complain to her father, or worse, her mother.
Finding a tall tree with fairly low branches, Millie began to climb up. Once she was high enough off the ground, she sat on a thick branch, and let her feet hang off. She didn't know how long she would sit in the tree, or what she would do when she got bored, but at least she was outside.
She'd only been sitting for a short time when she saw Chance walking down the forest path. She debated with herself whether to scare her friend, or simply call his name. Deciding on the latter, she cupped her hands around her mouth and called out, "Chance!"
