I was always a fan of Chantel and Winter but I never watched Family Chantel because it was too fake for my liking. I watched some clips from both shows. Those two shouldn't never gotten married. This was vacation fling that should never left the DR. I believe that Pedro was attracted to Chantel but not in love with. I think that Lidia was pushing him to be serious with Chantel so he can go to America and giving them money. Pedro's friend found out and told Chantel. Chantel should probably dump Pedro or take a break from this relationship.
Chantel barely knows this man and taking a lot of risk. Then Chantel lies to her family about Pedro's visa and he being a student. When they found out the true, they are upset and Chantel is taking a huge risk. Even if they divorce, Chantel is responsible for him financially.Karen was talking to Pedro in very disrespectful way. Also meddling in their marriage. Chantel sucks for not shutting it down. But Pedro's family also sucks. Nicole was beyond disrespectful and Lidia sat there let her be disrespectful. If I was Pedro, I would have stop sending them stuff for awhile. When they got settled in careers, things went to south quickly. Chantel is now a nurse and Pedro went into real estate. We see Chantel traveling a lot and Pedro was not coming home.
We see that Pedro hanging our his coworkers and old friends , then come home late. We saw him inappropriate dancing with Nicole's friend. I believe that he was cheating. Pedro was treating Chantel badly. I think that he was planning on leaving since it will not look bad to immigration and had his own money. Then divorce filing happens. Chantel was wrong for trying to deport him and taking all that out of that account. Chantel could have gotten account froze and let courts decide what to do with it. I don't blame Chantel for getting a third-party to sell the house because I would not trust Pedro either. Pedro was so salty about not selling the house himself.
I am glad that Chantel did not listen to her mother and settled with Pedro quickly. Without Pedro she would not have all of opportunities that were not nursing related. Plus keeping on going to court , risk to her losing money. Chantel and Pedro was always doomed to fail in my eyes. They have quick romance with some red flags.
They were not ready for marriage. They had toxic families THAT BOTH NEED GET AWAY FROM. Pedro was his mother's minion. Karen did not know how to communicate with her Children in a healthy way. Thomas let his control everything. Both of them need professional help especially Chantel. As someone with NVLD, I think that Chantel has some disorder. I hope Chantel and Winter find love , happiness and success.
