She’d never seen anything like it before. Who in their right mind would build such a large mansion in the middle of a forest? Kasa had always been under the impression that humans with a lot of money enjoyed showing it off in places with an equal amount of money, not.. A forest. The sight was somewhat frightening for her, but curiosity quickly took over as she allowed herself to walk toward the mansion.
It really was intimidating once she got closer to it. She never did like big homes; to her and her survival lifestyle, such a large shelter seemed unnecessary, but the human part of her did find the idea of being important enough to be able to have such a large house rather appealing. Slowly, she’d step up to the door, but didn’t knock just yet.
What if they were hostile? It wouldn’t be the first time humans tried to hurt her out in the forest. Even worse, what if they thought she was lost? She absolutely hated having to run away from nice people, but she couldn’t chance being thrown into the human world. They’d never let her practice her craft; from what she knew, they’d think she was going to curse them and throw her into jail...
Still, curiosity overrode all of her logic. She really wanted to see who this was. Maybe they weren’t human? It seemed off for a human to have a house in the forest in the first place. There was always that chance that she was going to meet a nonhuman. With that thought it mind, she’d hit her fist on the door a few times.
Then, the fear came rushing back to her. What if they tried to kill her? What if they didn’t like visitors? Maybe that’s why they lived so far away from civilization. This was a mistake. Spinning back around, she rushed to return to the edge of the clearing and hide in the forest again, only assuming that someone was going to open that door in the span of a few seconds. Considering how slow she’d been walking to the door, her return could have been seen as a world record speed.
So, ducking behind the nearest bush, she waited in a mix of fear and curiosity for the owner of the home to be revealed. At this point, she hoped they were human. At least then she could run off without worrying about being followed. If she had to list two facts about humans, they’d be that they loved destroying forests, and they were terrified of unknown sources.
