Sanctuary/Passion is my absolute favorite KH track, sans Roxas and Ven's themes, and I openly wept at work today at the Piano Duet. Thank you so much for making such a gorgeous album. It was so worth the wait, and has inspired so much KH creativity within me once again. <3

ARE YOU SERIOUS???? Then you’re going to be glad when I actually debut my sideblog, if you wanna follow it, called @thekazumakuwabara . I already fixed the layout for it, made some header graphics and icons, but all the posts need to be queued before it becomes active. I have over 500+ posts just for Kuwabara in it, just letting you know.

Also, have you heard of all the stuff coming out of the 25th Anniversary?? They have a YYH cafe that’s open right now til mid-august, SO MUCH MERCH, they’re working on a mobile game, and there are RUMORS of maybe something coming out in October animation wise?? Those are just rumors though. Still, I am SO FREAKING excited and I need to get the blurays so I can make graphics. (I already made a gif set from the second YYH movie but I haven’t posted it yet.)

A call has been answered!

No thanks to tumblr’s inbox system.  But!  One of our two spots has been filled!

If anyone is curious as to what I’m referring to, the call for help is here and I am so very glad to have another Spones fan on board!  The rules are outlined in the post and pretty simple, so if you’d like to assist Dani, please just shoot this blog a message!  Messenger seems to be more effective since it just now told me about the ask box.

For anyone curious, demidani will be on a small pre-admin period where reblogging and posting is just fine.  So long as everything goes smoothly and nothing breaks out, no images are stolen, etc, demidani will get the promotion to admin!

I am not leaving fuckyeahspones.  I made this blog out of love in my college years and as real life has eaten up my time, I want to stay faithful to it, while letting people who have more time take the reigns.  I’ll still be around, but everyone please give Dani a very warm welcome.

Why doesn't Kirux look like Riku?

A blog test question with a worldbuilding answer!

We know in the canon KH, Roxas looks like he does because Sora has Ven’s heart.  Otherwise, Nobodies look exactly the same.  So it’s a good question: Why doesn’t Kirux just look like Riku?

Riku remembers Terra, as proven in 3D, when talking to Ansem: "You know…when I look at you…there’s this memory that flashes back. A secret I said I’d keep when I was little. The main reason I kept dreaming about the outside world…was ‘cause of him.“

Besides the fact that this shattered my heart into a million pieces, this shows how strong Riku’s drive is.  He kept that to himself, the entire time (”You gotta keep this a secret, okay?  Otherwise, all the magic will wear off”), and states right there that Terra was the big motivator for why he wanted to leave.  He thanks Kairi in the first game, but my guess is that he was either lying because he’d promised, or Kairi was the catalyst to remind Riku that he wanted to leave.

Regardless, Terra’s proven to be a huge influence on Riku’s entire life.  Obviously.  So, in Castle Oblivion, when Naminé starts picking apart Riku’s memories, she sees Terra there.  Had someone who actually knew about Terra been there instead of Marluxia, things would’ve panned out a lot differently and been even more fascinating but I’ll stop that before it becomes a runaway train of its own.  But Terra is a strong reminder of everything Riku holds dear, including Kairi.  Therefore, Nami had to unravel that thread as well, so any memory of Terra wouldn’t bring anything else back accidentally.

This loss of something so important to Riku’s core, something that drove him so much, manifested in Kirux’s appearance.  

But Kirux was born before Riku even got to Castle Oblivion!

Well, yes.  That’s very true.  So what I just explained is sort of a secondary, stronger reason that keeps getting reinforced as Ties of the Abyss continues.  The main reason was already stated, by Riku himself.

Sometimes you don’t need to literally house someone’s heart to hold them close.  Riku obviously held this so dearly that in canon and InVerted, he was willing to leave his home, possibly forever, because Terra told him there were other worlds.  If that isn’t reason enough or shows how hard Riku holds on, I got nothin’ more to give.  Riku canonically explained it himself.
