@chaoticjett:
Jett had created a list of places to try out as soon as he finally landed back in town. For weeks he put off coming to this restaurant in particular. Because he got caught up with finally running into some old friends. But nevertheless after hearing about how great the food was. He decided it was time to see if the restaurant lived up to it’s standards. Although maybe he picked the wrong time to show up. Jett jumped when the woman came out of the kitchen wielding a knife, and snapping at him. “I’m sorry darling I didn’t see a closed sign, so I automatically assumed. That meant you were open I can return later.”
“Might want to learn how to look at signs in the windows,” Lupe all but growled, not putting away the brandished knife quite yet. This one had the look of someone she should not trust, but she didn’t have access to her backup technology at the front door. “And don’t call me darling, we don’t know each other.” Trust was hard won when it came to the youngest Perez, and the suspicion didn’t go away just because her knife did. “You want to eat? Give me $50 and I’ll give you a pre-brunch special. Namely you get to taste before I’m satisfied.”
