Good morning from France where I'm thrilled (and as always, honored) to again represent my colleagues and our organization at the upcoming Cannes Film Festival. Today, as I woke up way too early from jet lag, I was greeted by wonderful text messages and pix from back home: @FilmLinc on #SNL! The show's creator and producer Lorne Michaels joined us on Monday night at our annual #ChaplinAward Gala as we saluted Robert DeNiro and raised funds to support the Film Society. He was one of the last to leave the gala dinner (I spotted him still hanging out with Michael Douglas as I left the event) and his support is truly meaningful. Thank you! I haven't watched the skit yet, I hear it's funny, but as I looked at the images this morning in Paris, I took a moment to remember an amazing woman, who we lost recently, who contributed so much to cinema and the Film Society of Lincoln Center. Rest In peace, Elinor Bunin Munroe. The fabulous film center that you helped build thrives daily as a home for films, conversations and coming together. Cheers! #FilmLivesHere #FilmLivesEverywhere (at Paris, France)
