Image 1: Ronnie’s troubles worsen by the day. His stomach swells and distends alarmingly, and he shuts himself off from the world to hide this new deformity. 

Image 2: he ignores the knocks on the door, pretends he isn’t home. / he can’t let them see him like this.

Image 3: he needs help. / but his neighbours cannot get in to his locked trailer.

Image 4: but they refuse to give up on Ronnie. / in their community he is a brother, a son, a companion and sometimes a nuisance. he’s family. / but they are not the only family he has. / maybe a visit from a relative could bring him out of his funk?

Image 1: Nrs. Jones: Mr. Mullin? Dr. Blount is ready to see you now. / Mullin: what happened to Dr. Dixon? / Nrs. Jones: retired, hon. ‘bout a year ago.

Image 2: Ronnie felt certain there was something wrong with him, and the doctor would find it.

Image 3: he waited in anxious silence for the verdict - such persistent symptoms, for so long, couldn’t be good.

Image 4: Dr. Blount: nothing to worry about, Ronald. / Dr. Blount: you’re a very healthy young man - you could do with a bit more exercise, but hey, who couldn’t? / Dr. Blount: try not to worry so much! that’s what’s making you sick. / But Ronnie remained worried. He couldn’t shake the feeling that something was wrong.
