Finally!!
Chapter 14 is finally finished; I'm just tying up the editing process and doing my usual fine-tuning. This chapter was seriously an intense labor of love, moreso than any other chapter that came before it, and I'm beyond excited for what the next couple of chapters are going to bring now that my intermittent and persistent writer's block has finally broken like waves against the rocky shore. I am inexplicably super nervous about this now...I was confident about it a few hours ago, but I’m nervous now. Posting jitters, I guess.

Fun fact: I really, REALLY wanted Erik to sing “Nessun Dorma” in this chapter, but it would have been horrendously anachronistic considering that Turandot was written in the 1920s. So instead, the song he sings at the end of the chapter, while alluded to, is left highly ambiguous and isn’t named, nor does it include any lyrics. (I can neither confirm nor deny that Turandot was in fact somehow written a few decades earlier in my personal headcanon for this fic, but...um...yeah. Ahem.)
