There are a lot of great first strikes in One Piece and none of them scratch my brain like this one. This is one of the hottest things Sanji has done in his entire life.

I'm very late to this conversation but months ago I read this fic and since then I couldn't get out of my mind the idea of what Doflamingo would have done if he would have had the time and opportunity to meet Nami and find out what she is capable of.

Now that I'm rereading Dressrosa, I've never noticed that her powers are the first "taste" he has of the mugiwaras "in person". But he doesn't see or hear the lightning himself and I think he doesn't fully connect the events that happen in this chapter. After that, he never saw her again.

And this is very, very interesting to me and I'm surprised I didn't thought about this sooner because I've always said (I don't remember exactly where but definitely somewhere) Doflamingo is Arlong but a thousand times worse.

This, combined with Law's desperation to divert Doflamingo's attention away from the ship, leaves you ruminating on that What if Sanji hadn't made it in time? What if Doflamingo had gotten a good look at her and her abilities?

It's a great concept I would love to see but it wasn't possible and I'll always be sad for it.
