I had this idea that it'd be fun to share my favourite line(s) from each chapter of Unnatural Secrets as I write this third draft (hopefully without spoiling anything).
Here's chapter 1:
Many had gone missing already, and more vanished every night. Never where Iliza could see, could witness. Never near the rooftops she'd haunt when the moon fell, watching from her midnight perch. It was as if a pair of invisible eyes loomed over her city, invisible hands choosing who to take and who to die.
