Thoughts: they share the same brain cell, so alike. 🤣
An emergency shipment to Washington state hadn’t been his idea of a solid summer. To his surprise though, it hadn’t been the worst thing in the world to happen. He made friends, saw new things, and learned a hell of a lot over the course of three months. Had he been able to choose his fate, he would’ve declined the offer the moment it was given to him, but he hadn’t been fortunate enough to make that decision on his own. So, with the help of his mother, he’d packed bags for himself and readied Rylan for his departure. Leaving his son was hard, but if anyone was going to love, adore, and care for Rylan the way he needed, it was his mother and Burt.
His mother had been the one to insist he go big for the night. She’d helped him pick out flowers and bag the gift he’d gotten Rachel while on a trip into Seattle. Maybe she hated him for leaving, but trying to show her how he felt once last time didn’t seem like such a bad plan after all. So, with a gift bag, flowers, and her favorite flavored coffee in hand, Finn made his way into the hospital, uniform hugging his slimmed frame a bit looser than it had months earlier. Turns out, a lot could change without home cooked meals and a lot of exercise. “I’m looking for Rachel Berry,” he hummed smoothly, the nurse on the other end of the conversation smiling wide before making a call. “Thank you,” he added, nervous to see the woman again. He’d screwed up, but not by choice and now was the moment of truth. Had he blown his chance entirely, or was there still hope for a future with a woman he’d come to adore?
