Holly & IrisLoc: Shrike Mall Parking Lot
Her shift had ended nearly forty minutes late this evening, thanks to the cash wrap not adding up and two (only two!) gerbils that made an impressive bid for their freedom in the final ten minutes of their opening hours. Though the receipts were now balanced and all rodents safely back in their homes, it left Holly in a sour mood as she locked up and pressed out into the freezing parking lot. The week of this new year had been particularly cold, leaving the asphalt something more reminiscent of the skating rink in the center of town than anything. Of course, not five feet from her car, Holly wiped out. She ended up landing hard on her side, her bag scattering her things across the ice like confetti and her car keys sliding perfectly underneath the neighboring car. "Shoot!" She crawled over to the car, fishing with her fingers in the dark to feel for her keys. It seemed futile, but she didn't have much of a chance to try a new approach-- there were a pair of boots next to her face now. Holly peeked out from under the car, up at the woman. "I-- I lost my keys, they slid--" she attempted to explain, but she could feel her cheeks warming with humiliation. This was already bad enough, the last thing she wanted were witnesses.
