Civilization is not unlike cancer – it can growth on something healthy and natural, corrupt it and sprawl without any concern for the effects it causes around it. It infects and avoids total destruction no matter the means. And just as new centers of progress and stability emerge on Posterra once more, many more primal, savage tribes feel the slow and inevitable tug of its calling. Some fight, of course, but the dread of progress means that usually they face much more advanced weaponry, tactics and that cold ruthlessness only someone assured of their moral superiority can bring to the table. Some understand that the tides change and try to slowly adapt, carefully opening up, starting with the bloodline of every community, no matter how backward – trade and barter. And so, the markets all around the ruined realms welcome more and more colorful merchants, an eclectic mix of sophistication and barbarity, colors, shapes and forms of all kind mingling together in a simple drive, a core desire to exchange Things We Have In Plenty for the Things We Lack but you have in plenty. Some find themselves instantly desirable by the finesse and rarity of their goods. Molten folk brings shiny gemstones only they can reach in the hot magma. Skywraiths offer wares made of solidified air, light and delicate. And the staunch amphibians of Gug Bogs offer rare and powerful spices, considered a delicacy worthy of kings and rulers, making them a quickly rising target to exploit by more canny merchants of the realms…
