LEON SCOTT KENNEDY, default verse is set anywhere shortly after RE2 to nebulously after RE4. 21-30 or so. he/him, biromantic bisexual.

i don't know the most about RE lore from like. 5 on until 7-9. i've seen the old animated movies and things like infinite darkness but i don't really like them or the convoluted-ness of RE lore after 4. i also didn't really care for requiem. i prefer to acknowledge 7-8 as their own standalone things, but i don't really integrate them into my writing of the universe. essentially, i'm not really the leon writer for you if you want to get into the nitty-gritty of RE lore or you want to write with a leon writer who depicts him as he appears in vendetta, RE6, and requiem, etc.. i prefer a pluckier leon and while it's obvious he's pretty depressed in RE4 i don't like how that evolves into his character in RE6 and on. he's mostly the guy i use for crossovers since his role can more or less be easily altered/tweaked to make him a generic secret agent type of character. spy thrillers, horror, crossovers with live-action TV show characters, etc, this is when leon makes sense.

leon was born in [xxxxxx], USA, a small town in the middle of nowhere, where he lived a pretty normal but boring smallville, america-type life filled with days spent on the porch, days biking through neighborhoods and stretches of empty land, stuff like that. due to having nothing else to do, leon picked up drinking at a young age, and this has flavored his coping mechanisms and the 'what to do when bored' trait throughout his life (disclaimer, i do not think i'm especially equipped to get in the nitty gritty of this and also i think RE isn't very fair when talking about his struggles with alcohol so it's flavortext here and will be mentioned but it won't be like... written in extensive detail).

i do not acknowledge leon's canon backstory with his parents getting killed and inspiring a sense of Justice in him or whatever. his parents are alive, but he's not on the best terms with them. they divorced when he was in his teens. around the time of the divorce he began dating the girlfriend who dumped him the night before RE2, whom he met at a house party. at 19 leon had an epiphany if he didn't get out of the town he was raised in NOW he would likely end up stuck there for the rest of his life. so he enlisted in the police academy, which after his completion he was stationed in raccoon city, dumped the night before his first day on the job, drank too much, woke up hungover... and well, you know the rest.

(if you don't know the rest, leon arrives in raccoon city late only to find it overrun with zombies. he meets claire redfield and ada wong and discovers the hidden umbrella corporation lab beneath the city responsible for the development of the t-virus which is turning people into zombies. leon barely makes it out of raccoon city with his life right before the government decides to bomb the city. after the events of RE2, leon gets "picked up" by the government and essentially forcibly assigned to work for USSTRATCOM as a bioweapon "specialist" of sorts, otherwise he risks spending a life in prison for simply being in the wrong place at the wrong time. this is where my verse takes place, with leon working for STRATCOM and investigating leads on potential bioweapon development.)

albedo. he/they. somewhere on the aromantic spectrum & biromantic bisexual.

!! : last time i played genshin impact was like mid or early 2021 i think, shortly after inazuma's release, whenever that was. i don't follow it at all anymore, do not read the wiki (except for what i had to read to write this out easily and concisely lol), etc.. my treatment of albedo and lifting of him from genshin canon keeps certain location and group names so i don't have to reinvent everything from scratch. i don't know anything about his role in current storylines in the game and more importantly i don't care to learn so it's better to treat my albedo like an oc for a jrpg world.

albedo is the chief alchemist and captain of the investigation team of the knights of favonius who looks over and protects the city-state mondstadt (essentially a loosely european-styled city). he is a scientist by nature and rather introverted but also relatively easy to talk to and, generally speaking, polite, although there are certain human and emotional beats albedo does not quite understand and usually needs to be explained to him.

he prefers his solitude and does anything he can to expand his scientific knowledge, including field study, art and anatomy studies, and stuff of that nature--thus, albedo can kind of surprise people by being both a really respected scientist and ALSO a really respected artist.

albedo is fascinated by hostile environments and studying them and can usually be found in his personal base within dragonspine mountain, which is for all intents and purposes the extremely dangerous ice level in a jrpg that everyone suggests the party avoid.

albedo is actually a homunculus, created thousands of years ago by someone known as rhinedottir (important reminder that i do not go here. ik she has canon lore in the game at this time but idc about any of that). he traveled with her for some time before she vanished on him and told him to go to mondstadt. albedo did so, and received his final instructions via a letter: "to show rhinedottir the truth and meaning of this world." albedo introduced alchemy to mondstadt and has lived there for some time; all of his research is done with the hope he will meet his master again someday and be able to give her the answer she's hoping to find in him. in the meantime he is concerned by the fact that he may one day lose his ability to control his power as an artificially created being and destroy mondstadt, trusting the traveler (aether/lumine) to destroy him should push come to shove.

CHAR AZNABLE, he/she. main verse age is 27-28 but is verse-dependent.

char is a liar and a manipulator who is so good at lying he doesn't know what he's feeling either. that aside, char is friendly, good at playing to people's expectations of him, and often commands charisma and personal respect with ease. char is usually easy to get along with but can come across as cagey and distant and is notably bad at being vulnerable. he often believes he is doing something for a morally right or good cause to disguise the fact that he is acting out of human selfishness and usually gets mad if someone suggests his cause is personal in some way. in crossovers char is best used as a sort of spy character or a respected commander of a starfleet or something.

char is born casval rem deikun. his father, zeon zum deikun, founder of the zeon regime, was killed by the zabi family. casval and his sister flee, fearing for their lives, and take on aliases. casval lives as edouard mass for a while. casval promises to get revenge for his father by killing off the zabi family.

infiltrating the zeon military, casval takes on the alias char aznable and becomes a quickly respected soldier who rises through the ranks, becoming known as the red comet. however, the rise of the federation's mobile suit, the gundam, and its pilot amuro ray as well as the awakening of amuro's newtype abilities, severely tests char's own experience and less-powerful awakening newtype abilities.

char finds and frees lalah, a powerful newtype girl, from earth, taking him under her wing to teach her more about her abilities and how to use them. lalah forms a connection with amuro, and unfortunately on the battlefield is accidentally killed by him by taking a hit intended for char. char never recovers from this.

after killing the zabi family and the events of the one year war conclude, char goes into hiding and takes the name quattro bajeena, operating as a spy and lieutenant for his former-enemies, working alongside even amuro to help with the next war efforts. he takes kamille under his wing as his protege, hoping to make up for what happened with lalah with kamille.

after the ending of zeta, fully disillusioned with humanity and believing history can do nothing but repeat, char decides to reinstate zeon to use his charisma to convince people to drop an asteroid on earth to send it into nuclear winter so that humans are forced into space to continue the evolution process into newtypes, believing people are too tethered to the earth and will only damage it irrevocably. or at least that's what he claims.

char claims his main hope is to see his father's legacy fulfilled and help see the evolution of newtypes along into a new age, but really he is just extremely jaded and unhappy.

KAMILLE BIDAN, he/she/it*. 15-16.

kamille's pronoun situation is very "teenager trying to figure out he is not cis". writing him in-universe closer to the beginning of the events of zeta will feature less pronoun fuckery. closer to the ending of zeta and in crossovers/as i feel it out/etc. will feature more pronoun fuckery.

as the main protagonist of zeta, kamille is a contrast to amuro's neuroticism and tendency to isolate. he is explosive, blunt, has a short temper, and always always speaks his mind--he is peak untreated autistic kid who doesn't understand social cues or how to lie to people to complace them. kamille has hated his name since birth, calling it a 'girl's name' and has extreme sensitivity over getting made fun of it. he compensates for this with hypermasc activities like learning karate and how to be a mechanic and stuff.

as the pilot of the zeta gundam, kamille has a similar hatred of war and weaponry but has a surprisingly level recognition that war is the system that brings people to do hateful and cruel things to other people and it's often one person in the position of power and the systems they put in place that needs to be destroyed.

kamille has very strong newtype abilities that give him hyperempathy. he often cries for his enemies and can't understand why people betray others.

like amuro, kamille is best used in crossover verses as a mechanic apprentice or the young prodigy pilot of a fighter pilot or something to that effect.

FOUR MURASAME, she/her. approximately 16.

four is not her real name. in fact, she knows almost nothing about herself except that she is the fourth cyber-newtype engineered by murasame labs in an attempt to artificially recreate the symptoms and experiences of newtypes to effectively create extra-efficient soldiers in battle who are capable of piloting bigger and better and stronger mobile suits. she is a weapon in the shape of a girl.

in crossover verses she is best treated as a bioengineered soldier or super-spy type of character who is otherwise not allowed contact with the outside world.

in battle, when her reprogramming awakens her cyber-newtype abilities, four is cold, calculated, and a monster who achieves her goals no matter the cost. outside of battle, she is a girly and childish teenage girl who wishes she remembered her name and wishes she was allowed to be a girl. some of her girly tendencies still appeared despite the mental conditioning: she wears purple lipstick and loves to style her hair.

due to being artificially implanted with abilities that are 1) extremely strong 2) taxing and 3) she would not otherwise have, four experiences heavy symptoms of chronic illness, taking very strong pain medication to deal with otherwise debilitating symptoms. she also accidentally reaches out to other newtypes with her abilities and can heavily influence them; this is how she forms a connection with and grows close with kamille.

AMURO RAY, he/him. main verse sets his age circa zeta (23-24) but is verse-dependent.

amuro uses he/him in a genderweird way, not because i hc him as a cis dude.

amuro is neurotic, introverted, and hard to get to know. he has a tendency to come across as cold and withdrawn. as he ages, he gets warmer around the edges, but it is obvious this is someone who has spent the bulk of his life on the battlefield. many people consider him cold. he is most at home with machinery and when allowed to tinker; in crossover verses he is best served as a mechanic in a car shop or in a sci-fi verse's spaceship as a fighter pilot.

in the series, amuro is the protagonist of the original series and the pilot of the 'original' gundam. he is conscripted into fighting the one year war at the age of 15. fighting in space and with the gundam helps him awaken to his latent newtype abilities, making him one of the first recognized newtypes in the universe. he has mixed feelings about his abilities and about being the gundam pilot. amuro is terrified of war and being on the battlefield but equally proud of his abilities and terrified of people not wanting to be around him if he can't pilot. he often promises to never fight again only to end up in the battlefield when someone dares to replace him with another pilot, highlighting a penchant for jealousy and a slightly petty streak.

during the one year war after he awakens to his newtype abilities he forms a very strong connection with a girl named lalah sune who fights on behalf of his main rival, char aznable. unfortunately lalah is killed by amuro in battle after she takes a hit intended for char, and this defines both of their character motivations and dynamic with each other for the remainder of the franchise.

after the one year war (the events of the original series) he moves off of the spaceship white base where he served and onto earth where he is used as a propaganda piece and more or less put under house arrest to monitor his development and his newtype abilities. amuro reaches adulthood like this. when he reaches 23ish a secondary war reaches its full height; amuro is approached by old friends and enemies asking hm to return to their side to help, but he refuses, wanting to remain on earth. eventually amuro teams up with a resistance effort on earth and pilots mobile suits on the earth, however, he is generally speaking resistant to returning to space.

despite his struggle to connect with people amuro does have a general hope for humanity and its future and their ability to overcome adversary, especially by the time he hits 29 (the events of the movie char's counterattack) he seems to have been able to put more of his withdrawn tendencies to the side.

JUN'ICHI "JUN" UYENO. 28, he/him/his. other nicknames ... J1, Ichi, Conifer Ledge's Number 1, etc...

copy-pasting this from his toyhouse page... also worth noting this whole thing is a joke idea i've had since i was like 15 of "there needs to be a skiing vs snowboarding sports anime where these guys have like turf wars over who is the coolest on the mountain"

Goes by "Jun" on the mountain and terminally avoids giving out his last name to prevent anyone from recognizing who he is, the formerly-feared head skier of the world-famous Conifer Ledge Resort, Jun'ichi Uyeno (romanized Uyeno instead of Ueno due to family having been immigrated for a few generations).

Prior to coming to Peabody Resort, Jun'ichi was the head/leader/boss/etc. of the ski group at Conifer Ledge, and he was known for his aggressive lifestyle and dedication to keeping boarders off his turf. An accident on extreme terrain tore Jun'ichi's ACL and he required surgery for it, during which he came to realize he no longer wanted to be known as an asshole. He deleted all his social media accounts and changed up his appearance and went ghost for a few years until the love of the sport brought him back to the (supposedly) quiet Peabody Family Resort where he was hoping to avoid petty sports drama. He did not. But the scene is much smaller than Conifer Ledge's, so Jun'ichi puts up with it for the sake of meeting people with a common interest.

Jun is now very friendly and can come across as naive. He is pretty good at skiing, working his way back up to a comfortable level of tolerance, although he's nowhere near as good as he was pre-injury. The skiers at Peabody want desperately to recruit him even though they have no idea of his true identity as 'Conifer Ledge's Number 1' (since 'ichi' means one), but Jun continues to deny them for fear of falling back into old habits. As such he gets along great with people on both 'sides' of the war for Peabody Family Resort's turf.

Outside of winter sports stuff, Jun is a dedicated gyaruo after deciding to get into j-fashion while recovering from his injury because it's my OC and I can do what I want.

I still need to draw him and finalize his design and stuff but this guy is basically the closest I have to my mental image of him so far. (but buffer jdslkfjdskfjdsf)

MATILDA. pokemon oc. she/it. hex maniac. visual kei bangya. you can see what it looks like here (toyhouse link)

matilda is my take on a pokemon-inspired variant of a visual kei bangya (which is the term for people who are fans of visual kei and attend vkei lives and such). she is a hex maniac who is a megafan of the "Electric-type Kei" look, with its #1 being elesa of nimbasa city.

originally from floaroma, it traveled to nimbasa and now lives there. she can often be found hanging out in the city's amusement park or attending tournaments featuring electric type trainers--it loves to make the journey to other cities with electric-type gyms to watch them fight.

matilda is a trainer but it isn't competitive and doesn't participate in the gym challenge, although she can be extremely scary and a challenging opponent if it feels like its reputation is on the line, especially in the face of any electric-type trainers it admires!

matilda is painfully shy and very very very reserved unless you get her to start talking about electric type kei and its related bands. she's kind of my take on the "shy anime nerd who gets super OP if you bring up its special interest" trope lol

matilda's team: rotom (her partner pokemon, also serves as her rotom phone which keeps her up to date on band happenings), toxtricity (active type personality), banette, gengar.
