Couldn’t decide on a single side character (or a prompt to match with), so instead y’all get a bunch of side characters for @seemoreseymoursbay fan week day 1. I may continue this trend for the whole week, or maybe ill be more specifically inspired. But right now i have a BIG group of tabs open to character pages that stuck out to me as i went through the fan wiki thinking about this week.
Who’s your fabourite?
The Collectors from The Owl House are genuinely the most underutilized and under-appreciated entities I've ever seen. They're cosmic gods characterized by implications and lore dumps. They travel planet to planet turning mortals into play things for shows, and when they get bored? They just leave and move on. They don't care about their atrocities, nor do they care about eachother. They trapped their own kin, the youngest of their collective, in a disk to rot on a planet they burned.
They saw the Titans and were too afraid of the potential that they held to ever consider peace. The Collectors burned the sky, boiled the sea, killed the titans, then convinced the populace to keep hunting for them. They left the Collector to waste his eternity as a plaything on a planet that they intended to have ridden of life. (While in the end they seemed to have actively created the Titan Hunters, this was probably well after the initial apocalypse they started had started to settle.)
The Collector doesn't even get a name, which kind of implies none of them do??? They're all faceless robbed cosmic beings that travel the stars, collecting life for their own entertainment. If we assume the tablet the Collector is trapped in is like, their usual method of containment, then they probably use them like TVs. The organism trapped inside projects as a powerless shadow that could then play out however they desire.
You could argue that's just a Collector thing, but I DO NOT agree. Everything tells us that they collect creatures, and if it's not a Noah's ark situation, then it has to be entertainment. Plus with things like the Archive (which Collector talks about like it's just a thing that exists, implying he didn't really make the concept of it) or just the puppetification and his general power set... yeah, it just leans to the idea that they collect for sport and pleasure.
Also it's interesting how they kind of parallel humans and witches??? Think about it, they're two powerful races from other worlds. When they meet, it's not immediately horrible, but when one finds out the other holds any potential power over them, they go on the offensive. The Collectors basically just pulled off their Day of Unity, which also just makes Belos MORE interesting because he was doing what the Collectors would have wanted. He was doing what they did while lying to say it was for the Titan, who could SEE him doing all of this.
Also also the powerscaling is insane because to KILL an adult Titan is like, near impossible it seems. After thousands of years Papa T deadass just didn't die, he said no and his heart still beat. (though that wasn't really like, doing much? Since it wasn't like pumping blood or anything, it was just a piece of symbolism incarcerate) we know that at least modern day Boiling Isles rain can't hurt someone with the Titan's powers, but also it's been THOUSANDS of years since the Collectors even DID that. The fucking salty ocean is boiling. THE SALT WATER IS STILL BOILING!!! They turned this planet into a damn star just to try to cook the Titans off, then left the Collector there with an unhinged book of their atrocities and his "failures".
I've been thinking about them a lot recently, happy to put some of it into text lol. I PRAY we see them, I NEED more. They're literally cosmic horror, please Dana I beg you.
Its Thursday again, guess this is my schedule now. Anyway here's a two-part character drop.
This is Login general Lorgen. hes an "alien" whos the color lime, and hes part beetle. Hes a general in the alien army (theres only one kind of alien species who could organize a military like people do) and if you didint guess hes not 100% alien but while hes part of the alien army hes super self conscious about his genetics, hes always wareing stuff that completely covers all but his face so nobody sees his non-green skin.
Im going to do a second post with Logan general lorgen in his earth era, cause hes so different after he goes to earth and meets the rest of my characters.

🌀 Spiral Doodles n Sketches🌀
A collection of doodles/sketches I’ve done over the past, month or so(idk. No real timestamps lol) time to explain!

1) Bianca (local spirit smoocher) working and overhearing some other gals talking about her.
2) Sketch of my current Wind Goddess Fen PoPo/ChingChing(👈 mentioned in another post) not super important to Spiral but important enough to mention here. I lied she’s kinda important
3-6) Feature Lifen, Chengjiao, Sun Wukong, and two new kiddos + a Bodisattvah. RedBoy and a lil Wolf Gal named Yuui, and Bodisattvah Li Mei Fan (Lifen’s guardian in Spiral; the big blue gal)
6 & 7) Bodisattvahs Guanyin and Li Mei Fan. One initial concept sketch, while the second is a conversation the two are having. (Guanyin I might swap around a bit. Idk just yet but I like her look)
8) Lastly, but not least, we have Spiral!Basteta being a cutie pie. Our local temple Guai who enjoys pestering a little dragon monk from time to time lol

So I guess I’ll info dump lol it’s a lot going on.
Essentially while world building, after my Lifen doodle I figured “hm; well why not?” And threw her in the mix lol. So she’s also going to be a traveller; adjacently working with Chenjiao and Yushu to figure out what is going on, while also trying to go not to get hoed by Heaven and trying not to kill RedBoy in the process lol.
In doing so they run into Bianca; a lotus harvester from the smaller islands who let her stay in her home(and her spirit friend/crush). Jun, a celestial dragon monk and his (secret) partner Basteta, hearing stories and legends about their friends and family they never thought possible in such strange lands.
I’m having a great time ngl; it’s so much fun. And I think Steta might be the cutest thing ever look at her lol face!! Also being a major perfectionist about my art, you know I’m loving it to post all these sketches lol
