My character peformance piece features one character kicking another. This is a difficult movement to get right so I looked at a multitude of video clips for referance. The above gif is a good example.

Week 13 Summary (Character Performance)
This week, I worked on my character design and animatic. The animatic is now significantly more complete. My character design is fairly simplistic, following closely the imagery that came to mind when I first heard my chosen audio. Although I still have a lot of work to complete, I have a fairly good idea of how to progress with this project.
Week 11 Summary (Character Performance)
This week, we looked at a few acting techniques. This mostly focused on the diferent insuler and social "spheres" that can be ocupied when projecting a performance. We also recorded some referance footage using our chosen audio clips with our own mimed performances. This kind of real life footage, with exagerated movements, should prove more useful as an animation referance than the footage that sould have originally acompanied the audio. Although I am fairly happy with my performance, it is a little more subdued than what I had in mind. I may record a new referance clip in my spare time. We began our animatics. Although mine differs somewhat from the referance footage, It was helpfull to have some idea of how an actual person might perform the spoken dialog.
Week 10 Summary (Performance)
This week began our character performance project, creating a lip sync animation more complex than the lip sync project of last year. We will choose a set voice recording and animate to it, using footage of our own performance as a guide. Although I am somewhat undecided, I will most likely animate in stop motion as it is quickly becoming my chosen medium. I am also yet to experiment with stop motion animated dialogue so this will no doubt prove to be an informative experience.
