rereading my own notes is just going "Man I really succeeded in making the Asshole of All Time with Eric St. Claire."

“But it feels like such a waste, never getting to show you the ropes, never getting an opportunity to teach you what you’re capable of—anyways—best time to start is yesterday, second best is now. So lets get right into everything I’ve missed out on!” He looks over at you beside him, face a mask of delight. “There’s so much choice here—pick your favorite, sweet? Savory? You strike me as someone who appreciates a degree of bitterness. I’m sorry I missed your first—you’ll have to tell me about it sometime.”

today in lines written

“—What happened to your hands?” Daniel cuts over him, eyes locked on where Eric’s fingers have gone bone white, down halfway into the back of his hand. “…did she do that?”

Eric glances down to his hands and back up, the soft expression breaking into a crooked little grin. “Side effect,” He says “guess I’ve had a little too much from her lately.” He flexes the fingers like they’re stiff, grin widening. “But, fun fact, it comes with all sorts of little rewards—” Eric’s eyes flash brilliant red and he adds, “—Bleed.”

this morning i have made the terrible decision to think about the alone with the bottle scene again.

except the afterwards of that.

the moments where eric appears.

soft spoken and polite and understanding and just a little on the unsettling side if only for the way he talks like it’s impossible and easy to choose in the same breath.

for the way his eyes are never normal.

the way he drops in and sees alex and suddenly what was supposed to be just another little check in becomes so much more.

because if he can break this kid like he was broken, well wouldn’t that just be perfect.
