Make your characters:
Have strong personalities - even negative traits are better than no traits
Do stuff - they should affect the plot, otherwise why are we following them
Have opinions
Be flawed- it’s wayyy more interesting than perfection
Have well defined and established skills - no sudden “oh yeah he’s an expert sword fighter”
Have real friendships and family relationships with people
Have romances that make sense
Be interesting - Jesus Christ you think that would be obvious
