There are and overabundance of characters that suppress their emotions. Characters that insist that they’re okay and struggle to accept help. But there is not enough representation of people who cannot hide their emotions. Characters who tear up at the mere mention of hardships. Whose voices catch whenever they try to speak of something serious. Whose mood can shift in seconds. Those who feel out of control, often being given help, usually accepting it, but always ashamed to. Who wish they could at least pretend to be strong, but their own frailty won’t allow it. Who are constantly insecure about their own insecurity. Not everyone’s fatal flaw is suppression. Sometimes it’s expression.
