So we have a question for you, because we absolutely love your rewrite ideas (Bless your cool writer brain) :
We saw an ask that talked about how Black Raisin didn't get to follow Vanilla to Beast-Yeast. So we are wondering what is your take on White Lily being followed by Pastry and Charcoal instead of Mercurial Knight and Silverbell?
Do you like it as is, or do you prefer the faeries follow? We're curious hehe
While I was originally surprised at character choices that went with Lily, I do like them. Especially since Lily at first was supposed to go with PV to the Spire with Apple Faerie (Candy Apple). So the faeries assumed she was already with one of faeries plus she was already with Vanilla
From there instead of returning to Kingdom she goes straight to Land of Silence. The faeries had litterally no clue she even went there, which is honestly very in character for Lily. On one hand she is very knowledgable and smart, on the other she does have a tendency to do things without fully thinking them through or without informing others. Which also often creates more issues than it solves, which also very on track with her (White Lily Cookie, my favourite girl failure)
Additionally Pastry and Charcoal would be more open minded about the entire situation than Silverbell or Mercurial because...
Yeah, Silent Salt was the guest. But I feel only Elder knew that it was the Virtue who visited them. Because Faeries do know that Beasts were Virtues. But it is also very clear that nobody knew it was Salt of Solidarity/Silent Salt who planted the tree
So I think everytime Silent Salt visited he was in disguise, and therefore none of the Faeries (aside from Elder) actually knew it was him. And we can be certain that the disguise would work, because crk in this regard uses cartoon logic like...
This is how Hollyberry was walking around in her disguises, and legit nobody recognized her. Cookies are blind lmao. Ah, I love cartoon logic. Salt of Solidarity could absolutely just put on a white hood, and Faeries would have no idea who he is
So like... if you had Silverbell or even worse Mercurial they would absolutely get aggressive, like heavily. They would be pissed. Especially when later SiSalt sets Lily on fire
I have no problem Charcoal usage in story. Because he does represent the Cookies from the current era currently leaving there (he cannot be the only descendant, this man wouldn't be physically able to keep track of over million of souls on daily basis. Plus he keeps talking about his family, regardless if they are still around, or if they're dead by now). And he serves to show how deep the lies went to just keep the secrets of sealing, and that the survivors of the land still hold respect towards the dead lands they call home
I have bigger problem with Pastry. But it's not that she was used, it's about how badly the entire plotline of Order was treated. They messed up Doughael update, and by extension they fumbled her storyline. And also while I do like that st. Pastry Order branched off from Kala Namak Knights... it was only one throw off line, and it created more questions than it solved
Like it's not a post for it, but my friend... the implications are very messy, especially given First Salt Cookie is a kid/teenager. Like... I don't think a teenage girl was aware of her actual influence when a bunch of little beings made a building where she could talk for them. I think she just found it lovely and fun, I don't think she knew she was actively being worshipped--
Okay, I'll end this here. Because I'm going off the rails. Because on one hand I can't wait for the Witch Castle update, on the other I am concerned about what might happen, because of Devsis wanting to tie two games together without thinking it through (because now two beasts were made by kids/teenagers, and it creates very messy issues. I know I already talked about it somewhat but god--)
