Dewey Arch in Madison Square Park (New York).
The Dewey Arch was built in 1899 by Charles Lamb, to commemorate Commodore George Dewey's victory over the Spanish at Manila Bay the previous year. It was built of staff (which was also used for the temporary buildings at the World Fairs), and modelled after the Arch of Titus in Rome. It was pulled down in 1901.
