AN OBSERVATION ON FORM
“Poetry is language turned
toward its own materiality”
(posted in a library somewhere…)
So in sum in essence
what you may be saying
is that it scarcely matters
whether one’s lies defer to
the dictum of duple lines
or the senseless fur of a
wild beast released on
its own recognizance…
COUNTER-DISCOURSE EXERCISE #2
The songster and the songstress
both assure me with emotive intensity
that they will love me until the end of time
or forever and a day.
I don't quite grasp their emphasis
on such longevity
for by then
we will be in decrepitly deadly
and otherwise deplorable condition.
A LOCALE DUBBED THE SPOT
A pointed location of launch and departure:
a stone left less than cold upon an inscription—
an ancient set of phrases carved with tools,
instruments, and frantic fingernails;
thus to discover expired subscriptions,
brittle periodicals, and obsolete urns.
Submissions, applications, reversions, and such.
A lone hope obtains at this agreed upon juncture:
the sure and eventual imposition of the will
of sir remission.
São Paulo?
COMMUNICATION BREAKDOWN, REVISITED
The fourth set of data
that you have set forth
to arrange to send remittance
has already somehow deployed
into volleys, replays
of broken messages,
piecemeal attrition and
replacement schedules.
We recipients had all so hoped
that you could have favored peace
and just let better be.
