Alex never wanted to move to the island. After all that happened to the coven he’d grown up in and his adoptive mother getting killed because of her use of magic (even though she was trying to save someone’s life with it), Alex was ready to leave the supernatural world behind him, however Esmeralda’s cousins, whom he lived with at the time, had encouraged him to join his friend in coming to Paradisus. For him it was temporary, so he simply lived with his friend and had every intention of leaving. That is, until he found out Charlie was on the island. The day he found her in the bakery, he’d never guessed they would have come so far, would be so in love, and now talking about spending lifetimes together.
Of course, relationships can be difficult, and after a little fight Alex had with Charlie, there was a part of him that felt he needed to prove that he would stay- even if it was just for her. So, Alex decided to find a place of his own- a place for the two of them to create a life and home together. Besides, with never being at his roommates’ house and always being at Charlie’s apartment without officially moving in, he was beginning to feel out of place again.
“Would you just trust me?” Alex let out a small laugh, teasing her as he led the way. He hadn’t told her exactly where they were going but at this point it was obvious that it was near the shifter woods. There was a mix of excitement and nerves that swirled in him as they made their way up the path, finally reaching one of the neighborhoods that set just a few miles outside of the woods. Alex tugged her along one of the paths and stopped in front of a little cottage, with white brick, dark shutters, and surrounded by trees, so much so that the most visible thing on the property was the stone path leading up to the door. “We’re here.” Alex beamed at the house, perhaps the happiest he’d been in weeks, before turning to look at Charlie once more. “I chose it with you in mind.” He added before gently tugging on her arm once again, inviting her to follow him to the front door.
