Are you comfortable to elaborate on your personal pratice? I mean these selfwritten cards i came across where you said you let Charon frame the reading. How exactly do you perform that ? Thank you for your time
Hey there, dear, that’s okay to ask, don’t worry. For my patron deity to frame my personal readings, there is little needed. [related post]
Before
I have a little bottle of hand disinfection and I use it to cleanse my hands before sitting down at my altar. Plain water does the trick, too, dear.
I prepare two cups of tea, coffee, or a simple glass of plain water or juice. One is mine, the other is for Charon and will be placed on the altar for the time I will be sitting there.
At the altar
I gently tap my self-crafted chain of bells, sit down, place the cup or the glass on the altar and place my own next to his.
Depending on when I do the reading (morning or evening) I will either tell him about what I have planned for the day or what happened throughout today. Added to that, I share with him all my fears, my wishes, my hopes, my ideas and plans for the future. I talk to him about my friends, my dreams I had the night before, what new things I learned about him, what new correspondences I associate with him, what reminded me of his presence during the day (if I speak to him in the evening), how my self-studies of the Greek language are going, anything really. While I do so, I slowly sip my beverage.
Once I am done with my drink of choice, I make sure neither his beverage nor my empty cup or glass can soil his journal or the cards. I do not get up to put it away, I usually put them out of reach near a corner of the altar. Usually, the top left.
I take out the box with my aspect cards and shuffle them in packs (honestly, it’s too many to shuffle them at once). As with the tarot, I let my intuition guide me when to stop, this time, however, I believe in Charon guiding me in the process.
Usually, I take a card from each pack. That may change depending on how I feel or what I feel drawn to do at the altar. Once I have the “aspects”, I thank Charon for guiding me, take my Tarot cards and proceed as with any reading. After that, the cards will be defined according to the aspects I pulled before.
As I am very truly believing that Charon is with me, I do not doubt myself or the aspects pulled or the messages of the cards. To me, this process is Charon’s response (the aspects are questions) and his advice / answer (the tarot cards) to what I told him before while sharing a beverage with him.
Afterward
After I finished writing in his devotional journal, I pack everything away.
I thank Charon for his time, wish him good night or a stressless day, ask him if there is anything he needs and if so, to let me know through my dreams or thoughts.
I gently tap my self-crafted chain of bells again, take the two cups or glasses, get up and go about my day or evening.
I hope that answers your question, dear! Best wishes
