How Chartcube is using Tapstream prelaunch
Chartcube is an exciting new business app that just launched in the AppStore for iPad and promises its users “a whole new way see and share data”. We spoke with Jack Mardack, Chartcube’s Head of Growth, about their use of Tapstream from an early stage in the app’s development.
How did you discover Tapstream?
Back in March of this year, we were graduating from a very early “Alpha” version of our app to a “Beta” version, which we planned to distribute more broadly to a range of testers, early users and friends. I began to “shop” around for a means to do mobile install tracking and attribution. As chance would have it, a connection of mine from LinkedIn was doing a webinar about mobile acquisition. So, I decided to check it out. This is where I first heard about Tapstream.
What factors lead you to choose Tapstream?
Based on my experiences building analytics and acquisition tracking at other early-stage companies like Eventbrite and Prezi, my bias was towards a single solution that would work elegantly across all our app installation scenarios. Lots of the other SDKs I heard about seemed strongly oriented to particular ad networks, and to paid methods of acquisition in general. I loved Tapstream’s clean, simple “shortlinks” approach to campaigns, that “just worked” everywhere. I was also glad we could start using Tapstream right away, long before we were in the AppStore.
How have you been using Tapstream prior to launch?
It was great that Tapstream was able to work with HockeyApp, our pre-AppStore distribution platform. It was easy to create Campaigns that would point to our latest builds, and use shortlinks to have a clear picture right away of where our installs (and clicks) were coming from. We’ve used Tapstream shortlinks in our Mailchimp emails to early users. We even made personal shortlinks for each member of the Chartcube team, so we could see who was bringing in the most beta testers.
How do expect to use Tapstream going forward?
Now that we’re in the AppStore, I expect to continue to use Tapstream campaigns and shortlinks in much the same way. Having already had the SDK in our app for months, with no issues, builds confidence for the post-launch chapter. We have other platforms and devices to look forward to, as well. And I’m excited to check out Tapstream custom onboarding links.
You can get the app in the App Store. (And yes of course that's a Taps.io Link!)
