Chase is back, Back again!// Harper and Chase
@acitypaintedred
That stupid, fucking idiot had put Harper into this mess. He had killed their leader, their alpha witch. Harper didn’t even know how the hell Calypso did it, but he had, and now everything laid on her shoulders. The coven blamed her, because she brought Calypso to their door steps, she’s the one that had been having a two year long affair with the hunter despite everyone warning her against it. She had to do something about it now, and she had to do it fast before they decided to disown her from the coven for actions that they could consider betrayal. She was incredibly angry at Calypso had what he had done, and she wanted to hurt him. it was something that she had planned to do whenever she saw him again.
However he was the least of her worries right now, and she was in the search of finding a new Alpha to take over. This was an important position within their coven, and no one was good enough to take care that role already within their family, so she had to look outside for help. This process was a lot more difficult than she would have thought, there was absolutely no one good enough to take the position that she needed them to fill. She had ran out of people, running out of ideas, and out of time before her family decided to do something about it themselves.
Sitting in her frustration, she was obsessively tapping her pen against her desk as she tried to think of ideas. This was when she remember that she had a book that might be able to help her. She lifted herself up from her desk and went over to the bookshelf to pull out a very old book, it was hundreds of years old, and it was a very lucky find of hers, a pride possession really to have a magically book this old. She gently pulled the book from its spot and laid it on the table. She knew that the sons of ipswich weren’t what they used to be, and the idea that was running through her head was very risky. She knew that the proper Alphas had been dead hundred of years before her, and that they were clearly all dead now except for one.
It was a complete long shot, and she didn’t know if it would work. it would take up a lot of power and magic, but Harper was always confident in her powers as a witch. Harper sent the next few days researching and gathering all the material that she would need to evoke someone from another dimension. This, of course, was only a theory. No one knew what really happen to Chase Collins but her family had their suspicions when the book was first found that this is what had happen when he battled the other alpha; Caleb.
Harper, on the night that she felt held the most magic, began her ritual. She had candles lighting the place, symbols written in chalk and blood all over the floors and walls that were necessary and the book that she needed to perform the magic open up in front of her. It was hard doing this in secret, but she was off to one of the abandoned houses on the property; places that she did her most secret of magic. The first couple tries were failures, wrong decisions, wrong things being pulled out, and a lot of power being used. The young witch was drained, but she had to do this, she had no choice. She had one last try in her, and she felt that she had found the right place this time; the hell dimension. Pushing out as much power as she possibly could, she ripped open the door to the dimension and pulled out the person that she knew was the right one this time.
The magic that she used literally blew the windows out of the house and made her collapse to the floor from being exhausted. She was still awake but she needed to catch her breath, she sat there for a moment breathing hard before looking up to see that there was a figure in the middle of the summoning symbol. She pushed herself up, and made her way to the figure and tried to look him over. “Please tell me that you’re alive.” She didn’t know if the transition from dimension wouldn’t kill him as she reached down to gently touch him to see that he was okay. He seem okay, he didn’t see that he was injured badly, or much of anything else. Placing that hand on his shoulder, she attempt to move him.
If Chase would have remembered what being in this dimension even was like, he would say that it was something close to a prison. Maybe. But as it were, Chase would not be able to remember any of this when it came time for his apparent rescue from this dimension. And all that happened to him while in it would seem to disappear into the recesses of his own mind as he drifted around the dimension. For when Harper reached in and took him from the dimension, things had gone back to what they were the day Caleb sent him into the portal.
The memories of what happened while he was in the hellish portal were though, locked inside his mind, seems to be erased. Chase, however, would not go completely without some side effects of having spent the last hundred and some odd years drifting around in a pocket dimension created by an amateur, newly ascended, Caleb Danvers. So when Harper reached him and yanked him out of the portal he let out a sharp scream and then closed his eyes as he passed out on the floor he'd just been dropped on from this new portal.
His mind had currently been trying to process, making it to where the last thing he could remember was Caleb Danvers. His breathing slowed from its erratic pace, but he continued to lay on the ground almost entirely unconscious as Harper looked him over. He wasn't really in any pain, other than the small burns on parts of his body, and some bruising on his gut, from the last attack Caleb delivered. Though after a moment of letting Harper look him over his eyes shot open, sparking from orange and then becoming a soulless black.
Chase throws his right arm out sending Harper flying from him, he quickly rolls away and pushes himself up into a crouch, letting out a growl before standing to look around " Where....Where is Caleb?!" He asks, his right hand at his side tightening into a fist " Tell me where Caleb Danvers is!" He lets out a few heavy breaths as he turns to look around. Something was off, he wasn't here... Closing his eyes, shakes his head slightly, looking at the floor.

He was alive, and that was a very good sign. She check him over and saw that he only had a few burns and bruises on him. She was going to put a few barriers up around him, so she could let him collect himself when he woke up, She didn’t know how he was going to react, but she didn’t move quick enough, and she was too busy looking him over that she didn’t see that his eyes had snapped open. She felt the magic hit her before she was flown back until she hit something solid. It was the end table next to the couch making her knock it over and flipping over it causing her to hit the table hard. It knocked the breath out of her, and a slight pain in her ribs. That was reckless of her as she pushed herself up to look at the warlock before her. “Caleb isn’t here.” She groaned out as she wrapped an arm around her stomach and onto her rib cage. “I need you to calm down.” She regarded him for a moment as she moved around the table that had been knocked over but kept her distance away from him. He didn’t know how much of his power that he had, and she was extremely weak from bringing him here. “Caleb had banished you to a different dimension, a very long time ago.” She explain, “My name is Harper, I summoned you from that dimension 168 years after you were put there.” She took in a deep breath as she slowly dropped her arms to her side. “So to put it mildly Caleb is dead.”
She had no clue how he was going to take the information, or if he was even going to believe her. She stood up straight, pressed her fingers against the symbol on her hand and mumbled a spell under her breath to make a barrier of light purple surround him. This was for both of their protections, and she slumped forward slightly from wanting to just sit down from being tired. “My coven needs you. A hunter had killed our last one, and I am desperate and need to find the strongest one that I could find; that’s you.” She wasn’t going to let the barrier down until she knew that he wasn’t going to attack her again, and that was if her berrier even held up. She really, really was going to hurt Calypso when she saw him again. This was the absolute most bullshit situation that he had ever put her through, not that he would care anyway.
Holding out his left hand, aiming at her, he feels a bit light headed, and at her answer, he tilts his head. Chase took a moment to process this news. Isn't Caleb here? Where the hell did he go?! They were in the middle of a fight! Looking around again, he tries to make sense of this. But he just cannot. Chase had to get revenge on those bastards, and this wasn't funny, not one bit, for him. Caleb had to be around. Watching the girl for a moment, he narrows his eyes on her " Then tell me where he is, we have something that needs to be finished." He didn't want to calm down! He wanted Caleb's power! Gripping his left hand into a fist, he was getting a bit irritated with the thought that Caleb didn't stay around. Chase was a worthy enough opponent, he had proved that, hadn't he?
But as Harper started to explain what was going on, his eyebrows lift, his eyes widening. No, it couldn't have been 168 years into the future? He was banished in another dimension, by Caleb!? Where did Caleb learn how to do that? Chase lifts his right hand up, pressing it against his forehead and curls into himself for a moment " No, no... You are lying." Pointing at her, his left arm shaking a bit as it points " We, we can't do that..." Lifting himself back up he swallowed as she went on "Caleb can't be dead, he...He owes me ...You are lying." Chase glared then at Harper " Is this a trick? "
Chase started to figure that it must have been a trick. Somehow Caleb had knocked him out, and this was his punishment. There was no way he could have been sent to another dimension! His breathing started to suddenly get more heavy, and quick. He nods as she spoke though, trying to pay attention to everything she'd been saying. Chase wanted to find the lie, but he couldn't, there was nothing telling him this wasn't really happening. And she also had powers, he noted, at the strange barrier she'd placed around him " A hunter? The witch hunters are back?" He didn't hear much about them back in the 2000s.
Suddenly he was gagging and turned away grabbing his stomach. Something strange was happening with him. Dropping to the floor he coughed, red staining his lips, he winces. Under his skin he felt slight changes in his body. Curling over the floor, Chase wheezes. The 168 added years of having his powers deprived of him were reconstructing inside his very DNA, at that moment, adapting to the world he was currently in. This only lasted for a moment before he was starting to feel slightly better, though extremely tired and weak from the battle that took place 168 years earlier, and all these other new changes for the time he'd found himself in.

It was very understandable that he didn’t believe her. “I told you that he was dead.” She said, “So you aren’t going to be able to finish anything unless you know a person that can revive the dead.” Which was something that she couldn’t do, and she didn’t plan on bringing back any other sons of ipswich. She had the one that she wanted right in front of her. “I’m not lying.” She said, “I have no reason to lie to you, especially because I need you.” She never needed someone as much as she needed Chase right now. He was going to help her coven, and save her from being kicked out of it. That was if he chose to help them, she really didn’t know what she was going to do if he refused. “Look around you, Chase, this whole place should tell you that this isn’t the 2000’s.” The house was updated and upgraded with technology that they would never have in the time era that Chase was from, but even this house wasn’t as updated like the main houses were.
The brunette watched as his breathing started to pick up and turn heavy, and she knew that he was upset. How couldn’t he be upset though, he had gone through a lot and he was getting thrown a lot of information at him. “Yes,” She replied back, “Witch hunters are back, and I know a very persistent, annoying, idiotic one that takes a lot of pleasure in killing our people.” She wrapped her arm back around her achy ribs as she went into a small imagine of how she was going to burst Calypso’s face in with that bat that he liked so much. She blinked at looked back at him when she heard him start to gag and drop to the ground. She moved to be closer to him but continued to keep her distance. She really wasn’t attempting to get attack by him if he was faking it.
It didn’t take her long to realize that he really was in pain, she could feel the aura around him changing, the magic becoming different than what she had originally felt from him when she summoned him. He was evolving, and she wondered how that was going to affect his power. She moved away from him, into the kitchen. She grabbed a glass of water, and brought it back over to him.She figured that he would be thirsty, and she would feed him as soon as she got him stable enough. She dropped the barrier, she was going to hope that he wasn’t going to attack her, though he looked to be weak.
Chase hated that the other was truly gone. And he had to know idea about reviving the dead. As well as he hadn't known anyone that would be alive, that he once knew. Not that he had anyone he did know, anyway. He had never had very many friends. His mother died when he was too young to remember her, or at least not very well if he somehow did have some memories. Then there was his father, who gave him power and so he was dead. Chase knew he was truly alone now. Many years ago, or for him, just moments ago, he would've been fine with being alone. But now that he seemed to be truly alone, it seemed a bit harder to chew. When the hyperventilating began, it was something pretty new to him, he'd never felt like this before. But his brain just kept telling him this was all wrong, and for him it really was. What happened during all this time he... he couldn't remember. Now there were more witch hunters and they had killed an Alpha? Chase didn't even know what that was! Looking at her he continues to try and stop his brain from the sudden airy-ness it felt like. Shaking his head he laughed " That's very, sucky." Chase said, though at the moment he was lacking the ability to speak as he once did. Which was a very playful way, he would think. But at the moment his brain was just too focused on her words " Hunters.... " Nope, nothing catchy was coming to mind. Which only continued to unsettle him, it was these little quirks of his that made him seem better, in his own mind, aside from The Power. Hunched over on the floor he shivers, the coldness that suddenly took him over coming from having been in such a different place for so long and suddenly coming back. Chase swallows hard. He wasn't supposed to be this weak, he couldn't stand it, and though he'd been trying to use some of his powers for the last few minutes, he didn't have the strength to do so. Looking back up, still shaking, sweat dripping down his face, he looks at the water and then glances to the side to see the strange barrier fall. How could she do that? He thought it was only men who had The Power, and what power was that? Maybe he could pretend to be friendly until he knew what was going on, and then decide from there what to do. Chase took the water, nodding, more to himself than to Harper " What's do you mean by Alpha?"

Harper just sat there as she watched him come to terms with everything that was going on, or trying to come to terms with everything that was going on. She didn’t say much as she just sat there and watched what was going on; just near so she could help if anything started to happen to him. When he started to hyperventilate, she moved to get a little closer to him and she was going to move to help him but stopped herself and allowed him to sort everything out himself. She knew that she wouldn’t want to be touched in this situation. A small laugh came through Harper when he said that the situation was sucky. “Sucky isn’t the right term for it.” She continued to sit there with the water in her hands before placing it down after offering it to him. “Hunters.” She replied in agreement, “and enough of them to be troublesome.” She bit down on her tongue, she really, really hated hunters, and she really hated that she was attached to one. The frustrated and annoyed look showed that.
Seeing the shivers, she moved so she could grab the blanket after she had laid the water down and dropped the barrier. “Here, you’re shivering.” She said as she handed him the blanket and sat back down indian style. She looked around her at the broken glass that littered the floor, and if she had the energy to do so, she could easily do a repair spell that would put all the glass back to place. It made the clean up less messy. She was also concern that her family was going to come check on her, she was certain that the more powerful of them would be able to feel the flux of power that she used. “An alpha?” She asked as she sat there and thought about how to answer that.
“Powerful witches or warlocks, the most powerful out of us all.” She pushed lifted her hand up and pushed dark brown hair out of her face. “The leaders of us, a coven cannot run right without one. I have searched high and low for an Alpha to take the place of our dead one, and no one has been good enough. I had to do something, and what better Alpha than well you, so I used all the magic that I could muster and brought you back from the dimension that Caleb banished you too.” She shifted and moved pulling her knees under her as she sat, “I can answer any question that you have, or I can try.” She needed to come up with a story about where Chase came from that she was going to tell her family, which was also running through head head.
So, one of these hunters were close to her, and had killed one of their kind? Chase smirks a bit at the thought of paying this person back, whoever they were. It seemed though, that this woman, Harper, was going to do something, anyway. Chase just sucked in a breath and swallowed again, trying to come to grips with all of this. Whoever this hunter was, and whoever they were working with, all needed to be taken care of. He was free to take over The Power now, without Caleb getting in his way. Chase thought that thinning out these hunters would be for the best. He didn't at all enjoy that he just got back and was already threatened by some crazy witch hunters.
At her bringing the blanket over he looked up, a suspicious look on his face. But it quickly faded as he pretended to realize that she was just concerned. Because after all, he had been shaking and she had wanted her new Alpha in tip top shape. Taking the blanket he moves to sit down and wraps it around himself. Lifting the water up to his mouth, his hand trembling as he did, he starts to sip. He couldn't get his body to stop doing that. It made him feel like he looked like a coward. He was no coward. He knew that his body was just reacting to whatever was going on with him, or whatever had happened to him. He just didn't like how it made him look.
As Harper explained Alpha's to him he nodded. In his time there were very few witches, and most of them were men and Alpha's, if not all of them. At least as far as Chase's knowledge had gone, it was his father, him, and those of the other four families in Ipswich. That's right! Was he even in Ipswich?! His brow furrows as he tiredly drinks from his cup. The teenager had no idea how to be an alpha, he had only started on his original path because he'd wanted more power. To stop the effects of his magic " Right, there must be someone to keep you others orderly..." He mumbled, staring off at the floor for a moment as he thought about this.
Chase looked at Harper then... What better choice than him? Had none of the other Sons of Ipswich said anything about his betrayal, or well, his attempt to take Caleb's powers? Did these people not know why the other banished him, even if it was an accident? Chase just stared at the woman, grinning " Of course, I was more powerful than any one of the other Sons of Ipswich, alone...." He pauses, thinking for another moment " And, they thought I was dead? Hm. Well..." Again he was at a loss for words, nothing snarky came to mind " I guess I can be your alpha." It would be a fun little experiment, he guessed. And an easy way to figure out how all these new age witches worked.

“Well my coven thinks so.” She said, “they think that we can’t function properly without one.” Which she honestly didn’t know. There had always been an Alpha within the coven, so she couldn’t really say what it would be like without one. She sat there as she stared off and tried to think of what she was going to tell her family about Chase. Did she just make up a background story for him, or did she tell them the truth that she summoned an hundred and something year old warlock from a different dimension. She wondered how much trouble she would be in, but she did do what she was told. She found them an Alpha, she had to think about it, and it wasn’t like she could hide the truth from everyone. Someone of them could read minds, some of them could read lies, She figured that telling the truth might be the best way to go.
Of course Harper didn’t know anything about Chase’s history outside of what the book told her, or that would have made her decision completely different. She stared at him when he said that he was more powerful than any of the others of his time, and she wasn’t 100% positive that was true. She just didn’t know how to revive a body, and she didn’t want to go to anyone that had those powers. So he was the closest best. Of course she didn’t say any of that and she grinned back at him. “You were.” She said, “I think I made the best decision for our Alpha. I just hope that the rest of my coven agrees with me.” She looked away and she brought her fingers up and through her hair from falling into her face. “Yes, everyone from your time thought you were dead, but they could not find any trace of your body. My family and I did a lot of research and we theorized that you were sent to a different dimension.”
The moment that he agreed to be her Alpha, a huge smile broke across her face. “Great, thank you.” She put her hands on her knees that were covered in black leggings and she kept her eyes on him. “You’re going to have to get used to the way magic works now, and you’re going to see that there is a lot of us, well a lot more than you’re time, and a lot of us are women.” She pressed her fingers against the symbol on her hand and it lit up making blue fire fill her hand. “Some of us specialize in things more than others. I’m most powerful with the elements.” She made her hand go into a fist and the fire was gone. Just that little show of power made her tired from how much power she had used before. “Now that we have this situation figured out, we’re going to have to figure out what to do with the hunters but that's a discussion for the whole coven.” Except for Calypso, he was hers to do with
