Sunflower

Like the faintest breath on winters glass

Beautiful things are not meant to last

 For she was a storm of passion and power

And I, yet another simple sunflower

 And though the rain may cleanse my roots

For every sunflower, there is only one truth

  For there can be rain

And there can be a sunflower

Both are beautiful

But not for each other

  And as much as I want your rain to take

For every sunflower, the sun must break
