Here’s a portrait video of my friend Maddie I took almost exactly a year ago!
I got home Saturday night from a week long trip to Arizona & last night I had three film rolls full of photos that I had taken developed. I decided to shoot 99% of my trip on film for a few reasons:
1. It’s a photography medium that I’m not excessively familiar with & one that I’m eager to become more familiar with.
2. Film captures light and colour in a way that digital will never be able to.
3. To teach myself precision in my photography; on digital I could, and sometimes do, take dozens of photos on different exposures and apertures hoping at least one turns out. On film, each shot matters and I have one chance to get the lighting, framing, and everything else perfect before I take the shot.
I saw using only film on this trip as a challenge & I love challenging myself. I couldn’t be more thrilled with how they turned out.

had my first shoot of 2016/my first shoot in a professional studio today with this beautiful (& stylish) lady. I have more shots coming tomorrow when I’ll have time to go through them all, for now here is a little preview :)
