True, there'd be no political benefit for the bourgeois state if the population actually knew what was going on. Though sometimes I wonder whether even if the people had the tools and the knowledge of politics they'd use them or just remain indifferent in the face of the latest shiny new gadget.

The “utopia” of capitalism is also impossible (since, right now, we can see how it isn’t working). An utopia is an horizon, something made so that you can walk towards it. Something made for you to progress. You could also think that progress is kind of an asynthote. You can always get better, but you’ll never reach “perfection”.
Hmm, when you put it like that it doesn't sound so bad, and probably more accurate to the module. Could all ideologies then be seen as a utopia?
