—花木蘭—The Savior of China had gotten all her best oaths from Yao. She swore roundly now, turning the map one way and then the other, there was no one to hear her--let alone to tell her which way she was meant to ride. For the first time she was truly sorry for al- ways laughing at Shang and his reliance on his maps; he would have scoffed to see her now but could at least tell her where the Sì Xiàng lay. The thought brought a flush of embarrassment to her already hot face and she clucked to Khan, pulling the horse to a gen- tle trot. The nearest town on the map...she thought...had the distinct shape of a pear, and Mulan crumpled the offending piece of paper into her saddlebag. She'd have to fall back on her own standby: ride into San Angel and ask for directions.
