The quiet buzzing of tattoo needles against skin filled the shop, a cacophony of comforting noise, like a low, quiet hum, as Teddy leaned back in his seat, one boot against the wall, the other firmly planted on the ground. In between them, he bounced what was intended to be a stress release ball, but really had ended up more of a distraction, from the floor to the wall and back to his hand. Thump-thump-smack. Thump-thump-smack. Thump-thump--
The ringing of the shop’s bell caught his attention, and he planted both feet on the ground as he circled in his chair and smiled at the patron that had stepped in.
“Hey, there,” he said jovially, as if he’d known her his whole life. “How can we help ya?”
