His two best friends were always fighting with each other. He wasn’t surprised. Claude didn’t really want to know what Adam had said to him, since he didn’t want to get too involved beyond being a place for advice for either one of them. No matter what it was that had been exchanged between them, he could tell that Blaise truly did care about Meg and keeping her around. It was what he’d told her at the restaurant when she’d shown up alone there. There was something about her that felt different to him beyond the people who Blaise had dated before. “I don’t think you’re fucking it up,” he told him. “At least, not intentionally. I do know that she’s a bit worried about the things they’re writing about--you and the redhead, wasn’t it? I saw it.” Though he knew it wasn’t Blaise’s fault that the kiss had happened, it still occurred, and he had to take some sort of responsibility for not stopping it sooner.
“I know about Belle,” Claude said calmly. If anything, he actually felt better about solving the curse now more than ever since Belle knew about it. She was quite smart, more than he had once given her credit for. “I heard that Belle found him, not that he told her. He’s probably quite upset about that part. I wouldn’t take much of what he says to heart at the end of... that time.” Blaise was a pain in the ass, but he was Claude’s pain in the ass. All he wanted to do was help his friend, no matter what. “You don’t have to apologize. I’m not going anywhere.”
