lyra and gem hadn’t spent a whole lot of time together lately. for a few reasons, main one’s being daunting work schedules. they thought the drive in would be a perfect place to get a little more caught up. even if they wouldn’t be talking a lot through the movie, the company was nice. gemma took a few moments to look over everything in her bag for a blanket once they had decided a spot to watch the movie. there were mostly cars so it was difficult to find a place to actually sit on the ground. thankfully, they found what she considered to be the perfect spot. there was some space from the vehicles and the grass below them was soft.
gem quickly laid out the blanket and smiled up to her friend. “i don’t wanna brag, but i think this is the best spot known to man.” she plopped down on the blanket and patted the spot next to her so lyra could join.
