Drunk after his shift is not how Diablo thought he would be sending his evening. He didn't mind staying for a drink or two every now and then, but he'd only worked the mid shift and the night was at it's peak. The dancers were as graceful as always, but there weren't too many people around that he enjoyed talking to. Texting Sibella had been an impulsive decision. The bartender was one of the only chill people he tolerated there and he convinced Diablo to unwind a little and have a few more drinks. After the first few Diablo had texted her, a little bored and needing better company. While waiting for her to arrive he slammed a couple more drinks. Spotting her walk in as he glanced towards the door to see if she had arrived yet he waved her over. He gestured to the open barstool beside him. "Sibella," he greeted once she was seated. "I'm glad you could come out. I know you're just a much of a night person as I am," he teased. He flagged the bartender over to order them both a drink. He was visibly already drunk, but he didn't really care. When they were served Diablo grabbed his glass and took a sip before setting it down. "You're looking well tonight. Rather...alluring." He smirked at her. "Not sure if Wonderland is quite your thing. I figured we could both use the place to occupy our time with each other. Though I find this place to be...unappealing at times, working here and all." He shrugged. "How are you tonight? I suppose I didn't ask yet."

Diablo wasn't really sure how the whole...birthday routines went with people. He never really celebrated his own much so he didn't exactly see the point. If Sibella wanted to celebrate hers though he wasn't going to stop her nor not celebrate with her. He'd gotten her a gift, that he'd spent way too long picking out, and it was wrapped in a small box that fit in his jacket pocket. He'd had a couple drinks with her, danced with her to her heart's content, but he needed a bit of a breather and a cigarette. He'd told Sibella to come outside with him, away from the crowd where they could have a moment of peace together, just the two of them. "Are you having fun?" he asked her. "Have to make sure the birthday girl is happy and all," he added with a little smirk. The smirk faltered though as his brows came together. "I, uh, I got you something." He shrugged nonchalantly and pulled the poorly wrapped, square box out of his pocket with her present inside. Diablo looked at her and gave her a smile. "Happy birthday," he said before handing the box to her.

Diablo knew this day was coming and that hadn't made things any easier on him. The agonizing anticipation leading up to it was awful. His entire life his birthday had never been important for Diablo. It was another day that passed without much notice. Never in his life had he dreaded it so horribly though. Another year older meant another year closer to death, which Diablo was not keen on in the slightest. He didn't want to die. The idea scared him. Dying would mean leaving Sibella behind and that seemed like a fate worse than death in itself. He'd promised Sibella that he wouldn't do anything reckless that would end with him hurt or, worse, killed. That was the opposite of what he wanted though. Yet, he drowned his sorrows out with drugs and alcohol, trying to just forget about everything for a little while. He had barely slept much all week and was slowly losing his mind. He suddenly heard noise coming from the front door. He'd been laying on his bed, staring at the ceiling for god only knows how long because he was dizzy and the room was spinning. All he could think in that moment was, please don't be Mal. When Diablo heard a familiar voice calling his name though he felt an ache in his chest. How could he face her knowing he was letting her down this way? He'd promised her and it killed him that he knew she'd be hurt by the sight of him alone. Diablo managed to sit up before she got to his room and when she walked in he made eye contact with her. All he wanted was for her to hold him and make the harrowing feeling of dread in his chest go away. Instead he just cried as he looked up at her. He was too inebriated to even try and hold it in. He tried to choke back sobs but that only made it worse. "I'm sorry," he finally let out. "I-I don't want to disappoint you. I don't want to hurt you. I'm sorry." He looks back up to her with wet, glossy, red eyes. "I don't ever want to leave you. I can't. I love you so much, Sibella. More than anything and I--" He buries his face in his arm and lets out a sob. "I don't want to die."

The idea of an escape room sounded fun at first. Figuring out a puzzle, basically, is what Diablo thought he was getting himself into. He wasn't easily scared by theatrics so he was hoping there was some thrill to this. For Sibella though he would endure even the worst of things. The first half was going fine but as Diablo found it was becoming increasingly difficult to figure out some of the solutions he grew agitated. He was antsy, constantly playing with his sleeve or checking the time on his phone, and was plagued with haunting thoughts of despite how slow time was going there was a limit to this room. Meaning, there was only a limit on how much time he had to do, well, everything. His mind was on a different plane when Sibella began talking to him. Diablo hadn't processed a single word she had said. It was almost as if he wasn't even looking at her, but past her. "Huh?" He finally snapped out of his thoughts and focused on her. "What did you say?"
