Since the day Trinity discovered his bloody and broken body and took him to her home to nurse him back to health, Will found peace in the Grace House - a place he could call ‘home’. Not a temporary one, but a permanent safe haven for him to live with the woman he loved and the daughters he looked to as his own in some way.
Mornings at the Grace House almost seemed to be days plucked out of his dreams; the girls chased each other around the front lawn, all the while Will watched and smiled at the beautiful sight. Though, after a while, his mind began to wander...
Wander back to a time he wished he could just put behind him all together. But for whatever reason life decided to never give an explanation for, he couldn’t. He could see his late beloved Maria standing gracefully underneath an apple tree they had planted together, her hands caressing the rounded bulge that was her pregnant belly. Inside of her, she carried his child...The child he never got to meet...because he killed its mother. He killed them both...
A deep growl rumbled in his throat as his anger began to boil. The beast inside of him saw this slip of control as an opportunity to ascend from its prison to the surface of his being. His nails began to extend and sharpen, as did his teeth. His sky blues glowered a deep golden hue. This wasn’t intentional, and he didn’t even know that it was happening as his mind continued to venture into those dark corners of his memories; flaunting what he could have had and throwing the fact that he was the reason it never happened in his face.
