It hadn’t been Rapunzel’s intention to stay at Fred’s until midnight, but after the blog post had dropped, she just didn’t want to go back home yet. She also hadn’t intended to try a bit of Fred’s special brownies, which he told her would just make her feel a bit lighter and want more snacks later, and it was at midnight that that time had come. Rapunzel did feel like the weight of the blog post was off her shoulders and like raiding Fred’s pantry was the only thing that currently mattered.
“We could bake,” she suggested, her eyes growing wide. “I mean, I know we did earlier, but I’m feeling like having more brownies, just not your special kind. You know, just plain, regular brownies.” It sounded like the most ingenious idea she’d ever had, and she began opening cabinets to try and find some mix. “Do you have a box of mix lying around anywhere? I always do at home, if anything, but I think Cass is home right now, and I haven’t talked to her in about forty-eight hours. That’s a long time for people who live together to not speak.”
