Chatelerhault
Chatelerhault is a beautiful country park about 15 miles southeast of Glasgow. I've been there many times, usually alone. I usually do the 'Green Bridge' trail, which is a loop of the park on a high path overlooking the river Avon; however last time I was there part of the trail was closed so one of the guides showed me a different route which took me much closer to the water. He said 'You'll think you're in the Amazon, but don't worry you're not lost!' It really is spectacular, especially on a warm, overcast morning like today, when I did feel a bit like I was in some foreign forest, among the tangle of trees and greenery, with the soft rush of the river to my right. I feel very lucky to live in a city where we have access to such beauty just a 30 minute train ride away.
