I had a dream where you sent me one of these that said "Just ship him off to the battering ram" and I was looking at it like "Who's 'him??'"
Wow! Interesting! Now, I'm curious as to who "him" is as well!
Got any ideas?

@besanii i have columns of character / pinyin / english / stroke order on one page then on another page i have character / pinyin / english so i can copy them down a billion times but my brain is still slipping on some of the simplest characters!! my brain is like a sieve ty for the advice though i will fill a few hundred more pages with characters and pray that something sticks
Do you copy them straight from the book, or do you cover up the answers as you go? I find that straight up copying doesn’t help me retain the information, and I have to actively test myself at every turn. I’d let myself review the list by copying it once or twice first, but then every time after that I would leave only the Chinese characters visible and have to fill out both pinyin and English and vice versa.
After a while, my brain started to develop shortcuts to remember the more difficult ones, like linking them to similar characters that I did remember, or another word that sounds almost the same.
(Shortening the lists to like...five to ten characters at a time might also help too!)
When I was studying for the JLPT, I used the site iKnow! - It’s a paid program, unfortunately, but it was a huge help because it had a sort of adaptive learning technology that recorded your errors and set you vocab and grammar quizzes. It also has a Chinese program, but I’ve never tried it.

Gary: Pete, you're a twink. I'm gonna smoke some weed now.

Gary: Well, you see. It's a gamer pad. Not many girls come in here because I get friendzoned so frequently. And that's okay.
Pete: I'd like to be in the friendzone! I'd like friends!
Gary: It's not as pleasant as you'd think. They don't treat you like a friend, they treat you like an item. Sometimes I wish I could be more than just an accessory to these women. But unfortunately, as a gamer, I don't get that respect.
Pete: Well I'm not a gamer, so maybe they'll respect me!
Gary: That just makes you a beta cuck. That's the difference between you and I, Pete Kowalski.
